The Easiest Way To Go Online, Bar None

What do you like best? As WordPress.org is the most popular software for going online, I applaud it for its flexibility, selection of plugins and themes -- especially free ones -- and relative ease of use. I use WordPress.org through hosting services, and have been since 2011, when I began my fashion blog. A few of my clients also use WordPress.org, and those who've granted me direct access to submit my work are near and dear to my heart. What do you dislike? Alas, as WordPress.org is ...

A Great Website Solution For Those Who Don't Know Code

What do you like best? Wordpress is a great tool that allows you to build a website using hundreds of templates. Depending on the budget you can get free or premium templates and features added to the site, but I mostly use Wordpress sites for clients that aren't knowledgeable in code and really just need to setup content via a WYSIWYG editor. Wordpress also configures so you can host your domain through them for a pretty reasonable price meaning you can have a custom website for your ...

User-Friendly, Flexible Open Source CMS

What do you like best? WordPress has the "famous five minute installation" process; a beginner really can get a site installed, grab a theme, and get started very quickly. However, WordPress is also quite flexible and customizable. We largely use it as a content management system, not blogging software. Adding custom content types is easy. We've also been able to create custom user permissions. The community that has grown around WordPress is great. Developers are very friendly, open, ...

Using WordPress for freelance projects

What do you like best? WordPress is extremely flexible and powerful. The variety of themes and plugins allow each website to be unique and well-fitted to the project. What do you dislike? While there are such great tools available (themes, plugins, etc there are many poor-quality tools and it's often difficult to predict when this will happen. Even plugins that have many users, good ratings, and appear updated will sometimes stop being updated by the author. Not sure if this is a fault ...

Wordpress Review

What do you like best? I like most that the Wordpress community has developed thousands of great looking themes and plugins that help in the deploymen, creation and marketing of websites for my clients. Also, the fact that the CMS allows many small business owners the ability to edit their own websites without having to to call me or another developer to complete simple edits once the site is deeloped. What do you dislike? Wordpress updates and theme updates sometimes causes a ...

The ultimate CMS for user-friendly development

What do you like best? Wordpress is a flexible CMS that allows us to build user-friendly website solutions for a variety of uses. What do you dislike? As an open source product, there is always concern of security, but the community and development teams do an excellent job of providing zero-day updates for identified threats. Recommendations to others considering the product Wordpress is often an excellent choice for general web development projects, but it's important to make sure ...

CMS for both the average user & larger enterprise

What do you like best? I myself have used WordPress both as a freelancer, and in my current job working with an international, custom content production company. Based on the flexibility with that alone, WP has become a powerhouse of a CMS system that not only allows you to utilize templates and other community-based plugins and resources...but also gives you the capability to customize it to your heart's (and your business' content. What do you dislike? The only aspect I dislike is ...

What's not to love!

What do you like best? Wordpress is THE CMS ... I've been using it for years moving most of my clients from "hard-coded" websites to this amazing content management system. The ease of functionality and abundance of customization options makes wordpress the only way to go in my book. You can make your website LOOK like anything you want it to look like and do just about anything too! The super easy to use admin interface allows you to update your website as quickly and easily as you ...

WordPress as a CMS

What do you like best? It's ease of use for authors. The ease of theme and plugin development. The huge and helpful community of users. What do you dislike? It's become a bit bloated in its age. Mostly due to it becoming more friendly for the author. The functionality required to make it more friendly makes it much heavier. Recommendations to others considering the product There are a lot of "default" features I think are unnecessary. In my opinion they create bloat. But there are ...

perfect for websites

What do you like best? WordPress websites offer much more than the few five or ten benefits you usually hear about. A blogging software-based website was termed as the new evolution of how websites are constructed. Now, WordPress is the content management system all websites and blogs are compared to. What do you dislike? Since the common approach with a blog site is to build out the site into an industry-specific authority resource with hundreds or even thousands of pages of content, ...
