Toast Guest Services overcharges restaurant and bar patrons

Toast Guest Services handles electronic payment of restaurant and bar tabs. Most establishments enter the effective tax rate for their location and desired tip level as a %, expect that Toast calculates the service charge (tip) based on the food total + tax instead of food total only. State tax is not subject to tipping. We had breakfast at Sasafornia in Calistoga on January 23 and the 20% service charge (tip) was calculated on the food + sales tax amount which is incorrect. Good stuff

I used SpotOn prior, and was unhappy with their products and customer service. Toast ahs been a nice change. There are a few things the software could use, but all in all the platform is solid. great for any bar or restaurant.

Customer care and support is the…

Customer care and support is the absolute worst. We have been waiting for over six weeks for Toast to send us our deposits from sales that happened last year. These total approximately $21,000 and is a big deal for a small business. Toast does not respond to attempts to contact them about this and shuffle our complaint between departments without any communication. DO NOT GET TOAST IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THEM FOR YOUR POS. They will claim to have 24/7 support but that is laughable. Save ...

Hope nothing breaks.

Daily use is fine and affordable. Once you have a problem and need customer support unless a very easy problem it goes to level 2 black whole. Had an issue with Tax and was told tax response has 8-10 week average response time. Are you kidding me. One of the worst customer support groups I have ever deal with.
