What do you like best about Slack? The amount of out of the box integrations is fantastic. We have used it to created topical rooms for our customers and development team. The ability to get a message from the app or serverless functions when something needs the development teams attention is invaluable. It cuts down on our need to look in multiple places.

I've been using the app for 4 years and now I can't imagine myself without Slack anymore. The free version is enough to use the app for our startup. Sometimes the app glitches, but that goes away quickly.

Ability to: sort channels into various folders, update your status to reflect important updates such as being away from keyboard/OOO/slow to respond, muting loud channels to allow for better focus, view a channel without needing to join, tagging colleagues without forcing them to join a channel
