Sketchup is a really useful tool
What do you like best? Its fairly simple to use, draw a shape, push pull and you have the start of a building. What do you dislike? The frustration of line work, sometimes it makes a box sometimes it doesn't. Recommendations to others considering the product Its really simple to use, we now use Revit, but I feel like sketch up has taught me and my team valuable lessons for Revit. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Quick sketching or ...

Simple and Effective
What do you like best? SketchUp is very easy to use once you've got the hang of it, and it's uses are pretty broad. Whether you need an accurate reference for perspective drawings of made up worlds or a mockup background for a store layout, it really comes in handy to keep in the software arsenal. What do you dislike? It is a simpler software, so there's only so far you can get with really complex shapes and details. Recommendations to others considering the product If you want a broader ...

Awesome application if you take the time to learn the basics
What do you like best? Very easy to use, for what I use it for (woodworking, there are a number of basic tools and techniques that are used and are super simple. What do you dislike? I only use the free version of the product but have seen how handy Layout is when putting together a document/build list/plan and it would be nice to have some version (even if watered down of it in the free version. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? ...

SketchUp Review
What do you like best? I love how easy SketchUp is to find, learn, and use. It's a great tool for 3D modeling beginners to get an idea of how to push and pull objects, faces, and manipulate images in a 3D environment easily. What do you dislike? I hate how you have to find and download plug-ins for this software in order to get the most out of it. On top of that, it's not always the easiest to figure out which plug-in is right for you, and the application you're trying to achieve. ...

Your ultimate best friend!
PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? Just about everything! I like how you can convert basic lines/shapes and start making your own dream building. Simplified shortcut commands allow for hand motion. You can translate your concentration from what you have in your head. Then moving that to the screen. What aspects are problematic or could work better? Basically nothing. I guess when you tend to overwork and your screen suddenly "bug splats." It can be annoying to ...

A modeller that's intuitive and making things better every minute!
PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? So many things to like with SketchUp! The best thing about it is its features is being able to own a free version. It lets you work on a certain number of PCs without any issues. Great interoperability with other programs. Having the ability to work on all PCs is with backwards compatibility is uber simple. What aspects are problematic or could work better? If I need to nit-pick, it would be not being able to rotate the view in a 2D ...

Small learning curve and an inuitive UI.
PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? SketchUp happens to be simplest CAD programs for learning. The UI is direct to the point. It's easy and simple. Once you have an idea of the commands, you can learn as you playing along. What aspects are problematic or could work better? I don't favor how SketchUp would segregate lines into segments. I was hoping there was some kind of an option in keeping the line in one piece. This is way better than breaking things up by ...

Easy to Use
What do you like best? Sketch Up has been a wonderful platform to project architectural and interior design ideas in. It is so easy to use and easy to learn. If there is a tool or something that I don't know how to do there is always a free tutorial you are able to find online. I do multiple projects in a week and need a program where you can import cad files or jpeg floorplans, quickly select walls and build up. This is a great because I can use quick shots of the different views in my ...

Considered to be one of the easiest platforms to work with.
PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? The simplicity in which you can create 3D and editing it is one of the many wonderful things with SketchUp. Once you come up with a basic drafted plan in Autocad, the massing model can successfully be made within minutes. I've been utilizing SketchUp for urban planning and building scale. It gave me precise output in terms of quality. What aspects are problematic or could work better? Two things I hate with SketchUp. One is not ...

An awesome sales tool when it comes to design.
PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? Being able to put up a design and presenting them to customers quickly. At the moment, I'm using SketchUp for designing photo voltaic solar installation for both business owners and home owners. Thanks to my fluency in architecture design, Sketchup makes it possible for me to visualize design with my customers. This can be done by means of a presentation in rendering a layout for their approval. What aspects are problematic or could ...
