A Solid Workhorse
What do you like best? I've used various versions of Quark over the years, mainly for ad and page layout in the newspaper industry and overall I've enjoyed my experience with this software. It's easy to navigate and use and to pick back up after you've been using other software for a while. I've also done a little bit of training and I've never had a problem getting new users up to speed in fairly short order. What do you dislike? There were a few times in the past when I had issues with ...

Quark is a great tool for creating all types of print work.
What do you like best? I like how easy it is to create different types of print work, such as brochures, flyers or invitations. It is pretty simple to layout whatever you're designing and see it come to life using Quark. What do you dislike? I dislike the photo editing options. It is very difficult to crop out a picture from its background. It only works if the background is white, and even when it is white the editing still doesn't always come out right. That's the most frustrating ...

Great product but hard to compete with the Adobe Suite
What do you like best? Just easy and intuitive tools and layout options. Learned it from day one practically... What do you dislike? Updates took forever between versions and didn't seem like it was a priority to stay current. Recommendations to others considering the product Lots of old school people out there, so if you're already using it, great, no need to change. As long as print ready PDFs can be made, it should last a long time. I still have an old MBP running Quark 3.1 or so... ...

Quark 8.5 - Not as fulfilling as InDesign but usable!
What do you like best? I've used Quark v. 8.5 for the past year as a graphic designer at a local newspaper and have found that what I like best is that the ungroup command is Cmd + U but not much else in comparison to InDesign which I am more familiar with. What do you dislike? I find the interface a bit clunky overall in comparison to Adobe InDesign with an excess of toolbars while working on projects. Plus, I work at a newspaper and, while using the program NewsEdit v.5.4.3.14 in ...

Long time user
What do you like best? Currently using Q7 to create Industrial design presentation documents. It is very flexible and provides capability to make very professional documents. I especially like the capability to generate PDFs that can then be imported in photoshop software program. Quark, good image manipulation software (photoshop and a 3D cad software is all I need to make professional/presentable documents and presentation materials. What do you dislike? The validation process. It is ...
