QuarkXPress Review

What do you like best? I really like the functionality of they short keys in quark and the way you can toggle a lot easier through the different tools than in adobe. Also, the ability to export pdfs separately is an important tool. What do you dislike? Probably the lack of integration with other adobe products. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? How to get layout and design done faster and more efficiently. This is where the short ...

A Very Handy Program

What do you like best? I like that this software can handle small and large publications from a one page advertisement to a newsletter or a book layout. It worked wonderfully for giant catalog layouts. It was streamline and easy to get to use. What do you dislike? It may not be as user friendly as some of the other competitive software that is out right now. If this software would add a few features that the competitors have now, they would be right up there with being my favorite. What ...

Great page layout program, easy to use

What do you like best? I like how easy it is to use, once you learn it. What do you dislike? It's not real smooth with integrating with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Adobe InDesign is better, in my opinion, and easier to use in general. Plus, since every Graphic Designer uses Photoshop and Illustrator, InDesign is set up similar to those and I feel more familiar with the workspace in InDesign. I don't feel like QuarkXPress is as user-friendly as Adobe InDesign. What business problems ...

The original layout program

What do you like best? Quark has always been a very intuitive and was the program I learned starting out. It is simple enough for beginners. What do you dislike? It doesn't integrate with other programs the way it's competition does. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Quark is a great program for layouts that require multiple pages.

Excellent product, but not as commonly used as before.

What do you like best? The last version of Quark XPress I have used was 6.5. I have always enjoyed the powerful features of the software, and knowing Quark XPress allowed me to get hired for more projects than knowing only InDesign. What do you dislike? Quark XPress does not seem to be the industry standard any more; while it is a very good program, it doesn't have the reach that it once had. Recommendations to others considering the product If you need a publishing software that can ...

Newspaper Design

What do you like best? I like the simplicity of QuarkXpress best. QuarkXpress' easy-to-understand user interface is what drives quick-turnaround publishing. What do you dislike? Although the simple user interface enhances productivity, QuarkXpress lacks the tools necessary for more comprehensive page designs. Recommendations to others considering the product I recommend QuarkXpress for less graphic heavy publishing. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits ...

Great layout program

What do you like best? The ability to line up image and text boxes with equal spacing. What do you dislike? Importing adobe illustrator and photoshop files are not as seamless as adobe indesign. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? One of the benefits I have realized is that there is no guess work in measurement of text/image boxes. Just simply plug in the numbers and the program does it for you.

Quark for freelance graphic designers

What do you like best? Quark was the first best page layout program. Creating on screen is like laying out on a board but with massive editability. My current client has Quark files that need updating, so I will most likely be using Quark on their machine. Now that Adobe has moved to a subscription model, I may be considering Quark again as my go to layout program. What do you dislike? I was turned off by price. When InDesign debuted at a much cheaper price and had the ability to ...

I love Quark and havebeenusing it since 1989.

What do you like best? Ease of use. As a designer, I find it is easy to create quick layouts. What do you dislike? I dislike that everyone is jumping on the InDesign bandwagon. Quark is a better program and with Q10 enhancements, it is even better. I find InDesign harder to work with. I just had one of my clients require that I use InDesign. So what I do is design in Quark then use Marzware to translate it into InDesign then send those files. Recommendations to others considering the ...

Quark express

What do you like best? Sometimes I worked with Korean language, Quark Express worked really well with foregin languages. What do you dislike? Most of graphic desigers use Photoshop or Illustrator, but Quark Express did work with the programs. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
