Used to be good.
What do you like best? Ease of layouts and the over all user friendliness (initially was originally determined our decision to work in Quark. What do you dislike? Constantly crashes. When I call to resolve issues the standard answers are 1. there's nothing we can do at this time. or 2. Just buy the newest version (even though your current version is only 2 years old. Recommendations to others considering the product Don't waste your time or money at this point...especially if you are a ...

Use Quark sparingly
What do you like best? The best part of Quark was when I had to design books and multi page articles. Used inDesign at first and then copied over to Quark to finish What do you dislike? Love Adobe products and using inDesign is a breeze. Quark just bogs down designing. When going to print more printers are using inDesign and ask for the Quark file to be in a pdf format so they don't have to deal with Quark Recommendations to others considering the product Learn inDesign. Sorry to say but ...

Gets the job done, but there are issues...
What do you like best? Quark has the typographical control required for professional page layout, including a robust styles interface, spelling dictionaries that can be modified, and hanging indents and advanced tabs. I used the product for over twenty years and it does the job. What do you dislike? I have found the customer service to be poor; there are difficulties in generating PDF files with full control and imbedded fonts. Some of the user interfaces are clunky and not particularly ...

The best for newspaper
What do you like best? Facility to use, variety of tools and great for low cost PCs. The low price is a great incentive to use QuarkXPress. It is a great software for both those already working with printed diagramming , and for those who are learning. What do you dislike? The compatibility could be better. Mainly for .jpg. And the hotkeys could be same as adobe softwares. Image editing could be improved. Compatibility with other diagramming software and vector could also be improved. ...

I used QuarkXpress daily for 15 years
What do you like best? The best part was that all the shortcuts and tools had become second nature after 15 years of daily use. What do you dislike? I stopped using QXP during version 8. The competition overtook QXP in ease of integrating with PSD and AI files. The UI became too bulky. QXP relied on 3rd party plug-ins for features that ID had built in (ex. Drop Shadows, Blending Modes, importing PSD files formats, etc. Recommendations to others considering the product QXP has not been my ...
