I've been a user since 1988 – Quark is the most accurate make up program out there

What do you like best? The typographical control and formatting What do you dislike? Things that change the shortcuts I've got used to. Recommendations to others considering the product For my money this is the program for a production environment What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I produce around 224 magazine pages a month in a 10 day production window, it's good

Gives a competitive advantage to its users

What do you like best? QuarkXPress is being aggressively developed. Last year's 2016 version brought the first reliable convert-to-native objects that could handle nightmare formats like Excel charts, as well as HTML5 smart-app publishing. QX2017, which has just been announced, piles on a host of major new features. What do you dislike? QuarkXPress is less known than it used to be, and dramatically less known than it deserves to be. It needs a higher social media profile. Recommendations ...

Very good and esay to work

What do you like best? The quark is super fast and easy to work with because the software provides it for quick and easy operation. What do you dislike? The quark does not have many functions. You just have the basics. The quark already closed me a job and I lost everything. I think it's bugs. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I'm working as a freelancer and I do book paging for a Newspaper in Portugal, editorial.

Excellent product for layouts

What do you like best? My favorite part of Quark is being able to make, define, and apply stylesheets that match my publication's brand and style. With other software, I've had to style text by hand every time I want to do something a bit differently. With Quark, I set a style, then apply it as many times as I want, and I can set keystrokes for each. What do you dislike? Occasionally some Quark documents can be buggy, but we've found that this often happens when pages are used over and ...

QuarkXPress Review

What do you like best? QuarkXPress it is easy to design a book even when it comes to complicated procedures. Something as simple as a drop shadow -- takes 3 seconds in Quark. For most of my jobs, Quark was quicker and intuitive. What do you dislike? The pdf's come out weird when I import them. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Produce a variety of layouts, from single-page flyers to the multi-media projects required for magazines, ...

Still some life in the last century's standard desktop publishing tool

What do you like best? Familiarly intuitive toolbars, commands, shortcuts and pasteboard mean that QXP is still a comfortable, predictable means of achieving a professional design result, for print and digital applications. What do you dislike? Still buggy after all these years, you never know when QXP will lock up or crash when working on lengthy, design-intensive projects. However, the same criticism can be leveled at each of its competitors. Recommendations to others considering the ...

Simple to Use, But Could Use a Few Improvements

What do you like best? Quark is a great tool for both simple and complex projects. It's very simple to navigate, especially if you are familiar with InDesign because they are both fairly similar. What do you dislike? I've had issues with converting Quark files into PDFs, as well as exporting the files. I also have found that the text box conversions can be buggy, slow and occasionally don't work at all. Quark could also use improvement with importing multigraphic files. Recommendations ...

Not as user friendly as other programs

What do you like best? When opening a document with missing fonts, the text is highlighted to show where they need to be replaced. What do you dislike? The lack of interface between other adobe programs. Example: Adobe Illustrator. The price is also pretty spendy, you can get a subscription to the adobe software programs for less and have a better product in the end. Recommendations to others considering the product Although I prefer Adobe indesign, Quark isn't a bad substitute. It's ...
