Not a private and secure email service

I signed up in June 2018 as reviews looked good but was warned by friends so I forgot about it and did not use it at all. Today (30 Dec 2023) I signed in to check if it is still working and I found phishing e-mails and messages from a mailing list that are similar to my e-mail address. Not sure how those e-mails got captures in my Spam folder but it is not very convincing that this is either secure or private.

Stop slanderous reviews. Keep it simple

Good communication. He's strick on rules. And doesn't want his company abused. So he has no problem banning a belligerent customer. And believe me he is very patient person, he means business when it comes to the rules. He always delivers. And always will if you read the fine print. This company offers amateur hobbyists like myself to gane knowledge. And we're lucky to have that privilege. If I was in his shoes I would ban anyone that display any behavior that goes against the rules. I've ...

Best email company ever

Best email company ever , I really don't understand all these negative review here , most of them are people who don't understand what private or encrypted email is ... Compared to GMAIL or even other private email companies like tutanota or skiff , proton is the best .

After trying to downgrade my account…

After trying to downgrade my account they managed to move me from a possibly returning when I can afford it customer to a never again and advising everyone who I recommended Proton Mail to in the past 4 years to run for their lives. Update - Recieved a stock email stating that I cannot downgrade my account to 1GB as was stated as an option and that I will have to pay to delete the excess of emails (just 800mb total) to get it below 500 MB to gain access to the 1GB account.

Impossible to delete trash or emails so…

Impossible to delete trash or emails so that mail is full and not able to move to trash. Mail comes to two boxes inbox and all mail so you've got double the trash you can't delete. Also if you have multiple accounts you have to close down one before opening the others. Nice idea but total rubbish in practice.

Postscript...

Proton is not as secure as it pretends: I've had a protonmail account for many years - at first totally watertight but now, after dropping the relevance of the "full stop" (U.S.= "period") which is in my user name, I seem to share the line with a "periodless" initial+surname user in, of course, the USA. I get his emails, and he possibly gets mine. An undesirable situation. This intrusion first happened a couple of years ago, and only ceased when I emailed the organisation holding my ...

I lost last week mailing, inaceptable

I lost last week mailing because Proton Drive took all the space so even if they are separately products one affects the other. Solution remove the account. I was an early adopter and evangelist now I'm a quitter because they don't know how to build a relationship with their clients. Sorry but I don't recommend this service.

Proton's Spectacular Failure

I've recently discovered a bug in Proton's credit card processing (at least for my business account). This bug is insidious: when I enter my credit or debit card number, expiration date, security code, and zip code, and attempt to charge the invoice amount or enter the credit card for future use, Proton's system is transmitting an incorrect expiration date to my banks which is causing every single card I own to be declined. I've worked with my credit union, Goldman Sachs and American ...

Bad support

Bad support, not being able to solve problem. Bad use policies. Account suspended for no reason. Support centre is not being able to help or put any effort. Plus they want money for their terrible service. I do not recommend this service.
