"Powerful but easy to use"

What do you like best? I like the fact that Nessus provides you whith all of the information you need to resolve any issues found. What do you dislike? Nessus can on occasion get out of sync and results are a bit wacky, doesn't happen often though. Recommendations to others considering the product: Good appliance. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Passing Federal Examiners audits!!!!!

"Nessus Pro; afforadable and effective"

What do you like best? The ease of use, configuration, and scheduling help us meet our compliance needs and provide a clear picture of vulnerabilities by group What do you dislike? The recent change to single accounts means my analysts cannot create and run their own specialized ad-hoc scans. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? It has greatly simplified out compliance reporting and mitigation strategies

" I find the functionality useful"

What do you like best? I like the vulnerability prioritization functionality best. It helps to determine which vulnerabilities to need to be addressed first What do you dislike? Not always easy to learn. Training could be better. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We're trying to solve some of the shortcomings of Qualys. ie. better vulnerability detection.

"This is a great product"

What do you like best? I like the ability to show to my clients and prospective clients their vulnerabilities that they think dont exist. What do you dislike? I would like it to be web based instead of application based What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Client security holes that will allow them to sleep at night!

"Nessus at Providence College"

What do you like best? Nessus Professional has a very easy-to-use interface and requires little technical expertise to operate. Scan scopes are easy to define and results are searchable and exportable. What do you dislike? Nessus generates a large amount of false positives, particularly on Linux systems for applications like Apache, Tomcat, etc. It generally only reads the banners, and even if you run an authenticated scan, it often times does not detect patches that are backported by the ...

"Tenable - Still a Leader"

What do you like best? The forward thinking vision and ease of use and customization What do you dislike? Lack of migration plan for SC > IO for customers requiring an on-premise solution. IO is a vast improvement, but on-prem deployment limits options. Recommendations to others considering the product: No need to look further, for vuln scanning and configuration compliance monitoring,Tenable has you covered. For remediation workflow, ingestion of other non-tenable data sources and advanced ...

"Nessus helps keep us secure!"

What do you like best? Nessus just works! I am able to create scheduled credentialed jobs and add my hosts. I know the job will always run and always produce the needed results. This helps me stay on top of our organizational risks. What do you dislike? We tend to lean towards open source software whenever possible. I still wish Nessus was open source, but the current pricing model isn't too bad. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Our risk ...

"Great vulnerability scanner...easy to use!"

What do you like best? The software is easy to use and setup. It has a large database of vulnerabilities and will alert you to issues including malware, missing patches, mis-configurations, default passwords, etc. Lots of options for exporting the data: CSV, PDF, HTML, etc. What do you dislike? Not many dislikes. Again, very user friendly. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Trying to ensure that our network is free from vulnerabilities gives us ...

"Powerful and comprehensive vulnerability scanner"

What do you like best? I enjoy the thoroughness of Nessus and the ability to customize scanned plugin definitions. What do you dislike? It's not always the easiest to find particular settings within Nessus. Not impossible, but you have to dig a little. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Nessus has assisted us with remaining PCI compliant for 9 years straight, and helps us catch vulnerabilities that we would otherwise never have seen.
