Expert's Review

MysteriumVPN has garnered a mix of praise and criticism from its users over the past year, painting a complex but largely promising picture. One of its standout features is its unique architecture, leveraging residential IPs to navigate situations that typical data center-based VPNs struggle with. Users are particularly impressed with its excellent speeds in many ...Read more

Mysterium VPN pros and cons

  • Offers residential IPs, which some users found effective for anonymized and region-specific services like streaming.

  • Provides fast response times and helpful support on certain channels, such as Telegram, for resolving user issues.

  • Includes a wide selection of servers and IPs, catering to users' diverse location needs.

  • Pay-Per-Use (PPU) feature (prior to being discontinued) was a popular and flexible pricing option.

  • Frequent disconnections and unstable connectivity, particularly during critical operations, disrupt usability.

  • The desktop app lacks transparency and critical features like real-time status updates for dropped connections.

Terrible Windows App and Service

Firstly, it is impossible to connect using the Windows application. As soon as you try to connect, it takes forever and results in error code 1112. I have tried reinstalling, fixing network adapters and so on, but nothing works and there is no help available. To at least try the service, I got the Android app and after checking several IPs via ipinfo.io, it became clear that this was false advertising. So-called "residential" IPs are advertised, but almost none of the providers are known ...

worst vpn service EVER!!!!!!!!!!

worst vpn service EVER!!!!!!!!!!! claims I have 6 devices connected and won't let me connect which is false because I use it only on 1 pc. When a miracle happens and I'm actually able to connect guess what? I get disconnected from the internet CONSTANTLY so yeah this DOES NOT WORK. To put the cherry on top they have absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE or any way what so ever to contact them. These are legit scammers!!!!!

Decent VPN…

This VPNs got some positives and negatives but it did seem to help me with one problem that most VPNs couldn’t help me with, though getting a refund is nearly impossible, the terms and conditions say to email their help email for a refund if it’s under seven days yet I have not gotten a reply for at least three days with a update. VPN also says how I have 6 devices connected which is the limit but I do not? I only have myself and one friend connected and even one of my friends were unable ...

Annoying and pedantic customer service

I wanted to cancel my subscription because the VPN speeds were so slow. Getting a refund was almost impossible. I used Apple Pay to pay with my credit card. When they asked how I had paid, I naturally said ‘Apple Pay’. That wasn’t good enough for them, resulting in me receiving comments like: - Stripe and Apple Pay are 2 different payment methods, you told that you used Apple Pay - So sir, why did you told us that you made payment through Apple Pay? all in separate emails over the span of ...

Super buggy and full of well-known datacenter proxies

I have been using both the Mac desktop app and the iOS app for almost a year, both for Mysterium VPN and Mysterium Dark. The first thing you need to know is that bugs are constant across all apps and platforms. Normally, the apps do not work half of the time. I have reported the problems countless times through the app and/or Discord, but they barely respond or pay attention. You are going to get tired of restarting, uninstalling, reinstalling... in the hope of making it work again. The ...

Mysterium is really worth it

I loved how mysterium let you PPU (Pay Per Use), that service has been discontinued, which made me a bit sad, but their new subscription based vpn, works better than any other vpn on top of being the only i have ever used that doesnt flag AntiVPN.

Nothing works

I assume that all of their positive reviews are paid by them. I paid for 2 year subscription, downloaded the VPN from Microsoft Store and it does not work. It just does not connect to any server. I also tried with their Android app, but no luck. There is no support whatsoever. They claim that they have 24/7 support but that is not true. I wish I could attach the screenshot I took from the live chat. It says "our usual reply time is a few hours". Moreover, there is no support outside working ...
