MySQL - Database Management at it's best

What do you like best? MySQL is secure, reliable and won't lose your information unless you lose it yourself. What do you dislike? Can seem tedious to try and and do the back-end programming if you are inexperienced in several web programming languages. Recommendations to others considering the product MySQL is not only a great place to start when you want to learn back-end database management and programming for websites, as well as software solutions, it is also secure, reliable and ...

MySQL a powerful and versatile DB engine

What do you like best? Mysql is very powerful, and best of all is multi platform, easy implementation in windows, linux and osx. Also is very powerful in shared web hosting or dedicated servers. What do you dislike? Is not as well adopted as others DB engines. Other DB engines are more popular than MySQL, for example: PGSQL, Oracle, Maria DB. Each one for different reasons: support, easy to use, price, administration tools, etc. Recommendations to others considering the product Best ...

MySQL is the most popular and best choice for a database for most projects of a variety of scales.

What do you like best? This is most likely the best choice for a database system/language, for a project that can be of almost any size. MySQL is extremely effective, optimized, and most of the time, simply-to-use, which makes it an obvious choice for companies in their early stages that are searching for a database system that is easy to integrate with their product. Since this product is free, it is especially nice that there is a lot of functionality for a database system/engine like ...

Great database for web applications

What do you like best? It is open source and I can use it to represent mostly any business relations as required. It is available in multiple platforms and provides multiple storage and indexing features. In spite of being a structured database, it also has option to store and perform CRUD operations on JSON data. This not only makes it good for structured data, but also makes it usable for application that requires combination of structured and non-structured data. What do you dislike? ...

MySQL Relational Database for Web Applications

What do you like best? MySQL being an opensource Relational Database Management System, provides ease of use. MySQL has cross platform support on which implementation and integration would not be a problem. I like the ease of connection to other programming languages and also management of large data. It is best partnered with other open source products. What do you dislike? Though MySQL has many features it isn't a compliant for full SQL standards, though there are workarounds but ...

Why MySQL?

What do you like best? I love how easy it is to script for using the Linux Terminal. What do you dislike? I don't like the way MySQL Workbench looks or functions. Recommendations to others considering the product If you are looking for a database that can be used across multiple operating systems and scales very well for the size of your needs, then look no further than MySQL. There is a large user base with myriad forums for just about any query or functionality you are wanting to ...

Great open-source platform for SQL table management across applications.

What do you like best? Easy to pick up for someone with cursory or no SQL experience. The amount of online learning material makes this a simple investment for anyone looking to utilize databases in their projects. What do you dislike? Getting ODBC connectors and other plugins to cooperate with third-party programs when you're trying to pass SQL data between them can be a hassle depending on system infrastructure. Getting appropriate information on this was a bit harder than learning ...

Maturity matters

What do you like best? MySQL is 22 years old this month, and that matters. A database technology is only as good as its least-reliable part, and there aren't many holes in MySQL. Because of its popularity over the years, there are solutions to nearly everything in MySQL. MySQL is a strong implementation of a simple idea, without the headache of bells and whistles; it's the straight-razor shave of databases. What do you dislike? MySQL performance falls off a cliff with long tables in a ...
