Perfect for small to moderate data sets.
What do you like best? It is open source and is a relational database. Since it is in the market for a while, support is not a big problem. There is plethora of knowledge in the internet for any issues. There are good number of IDE's to view and manage data. We used mysql in our company with out any issues with data sets up to 100 million records. What do you dislike? Reliable MySQL
What do you like best? As an open source database, the support community online is not only alive and well, but very strong and helpful. There is a very large number of support documentation as well as various management and development tools. What do you dislike? Some of the extra features of the larger database solutions are missing in MySQL, such as data vaulting, some index types and partitioning. Recommendations to others considering the product MySQL is under a GPL licence and as ...

MySQL - the only database manager you need.
What do you like best? MySQL, for me is one of the best, and easy to use programs I have ever used. The program is widely supported accross nearly all platforms possible, and is user friendly and very organized which is a definite must in my opinion. What do you dislike? There isn't much to dislike about MySQL. In my experience, I have never found a hitch or complication using it once, except this one time it was buggy and I had to downgrade it to fix the problem, but in the process lost ...

Free, Portable, Easy to Use database server

Simple installation and deployment with excellent free tools.
What do you like best? I have used Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle in the past. Recently for my latest project I decided to go with MySQL because it was free. I have been able to do what I needed with MySQL without needing to learn much as the SQL language is very standardized. MySQL Workbench also is easier to use than SQL Server Management Studio. It is also supported on more operating systems. What do you dislike? MySQL does not support data partitions. Scalability is limited to the ...

Great database with many uses!
What do you like best? What is not to like about MySQL? This is one of the easiest to set up, and most versatile databases you can set up, and anyone can use it! Especially since the introduction of the Json type field, which has expanded the use of this type of database even further. Last but certainty not least, this is one of the cheapest database to get set up for a real project. What do you dislike? Only real downside for MySQL is that the performance scaling is a little poor, and ...

A better IDE to start with MySQL
What do you like best? The application size is pretty small and therefore download doesn't seem to take much time. The interface is clean and takes minimal time to install a database. Can connect to every cloud platform including Amazon's AWS and Google Cloud platform. What do you dislike? The application sometimes fails to connect to Google Cloud Platform. I would like to see a feature from SQL Server where by holding the Alt key user can select multiple lines at the same position. ...

My Experience with MySQL
What do you like best? The best part about MySQL is how easily I can connect it to any a application and the user friendly editor where I can query and test the database. I like the SQL Editor as I can rerun any line without have to rewrite it. The editor also has few inbuilt features where I can update the database without having to write the actual query. Also the debugging is very easy to detect where I can go through the logs and find out which line is wrong. What do you dislike? ...
