Great for Electrical Diagrams

What do you like best? You can photograph your electronic components then add them and run wires from them in Visio! I wire up all my components to create schematics for my network in Visio. What do you dislike? I dislike having a small monitor because in Visio you can create massive sized schematics you can have printed as posters and hang them on your wall! Recommendations to others considering the product: I highly recommend Visio for electronics development and systems ...

I have a love-hate relationship with Visio

What do you like best? The most important thing and the reason that I fully recommend it even with its downsides is that I get paid the ammount I earn in part because I know how to use Visio, creating a network diagram, maintaining it and exporting it is one of my tasks in every deployment and without Visio diagramming a network would be probably much harder than it is right now. Visio supports industry standards, a diagram created by other engineer will follow the same rules making it ...

It's a basic tool for network engineers

What do you like best? A good chunk of my pay is because I know how to use this tool effectively, create a network diagram, update it and being able to read it as it's supposed to be read, it's pretty boring to use after you understand it but work is work. What do you dislike? A MacOSX version and Linux Version would be awesome, many of my coworkers use a VM just to have Visio available on their computers. Recommendations to others considering the product: Unless you need the ...

Diagrams? VISIO!

What do you like best? Work together on Visio flowcharts to include insights from all stakeholders. With Office 365*, multiple team members can work on diagrams at the same time. Connect your flowcharts and diagrams to real-time data. Applied shape formatting automatically updates your flowcharts to reflect changes in the underlying data, either in Visio or through Office 365*. What do you dislike? Its inability to delve deeply into micro information successfully. It is a ...

The Diagramming tool for all the big companies

What do you like best? It's easy to learn and resources are readily available to do whatever you need to do in Visio. It's an industry standard, if you are doing a diagram for big business you need Visio or you will not be taken seriously. A good diagram that is clear and easy to understand is vital to make a sell. What do you dislike? It's a Windows-only application, I really hope they get a MacOSX Version soon Recommendations to others considering the product: Using tools like ...

Excellent complement for word, powerpoint and autocad.

What do you like best? Visio is a really complete and easy tool to use, it works in a drag and drop way that makes adding objects, editing, rotating, resizing, connecting, adding text a streamlined process. The software comes with several varied primary options that rearrange the menus and basic tools, such as the engineering menu that sets your tools for pipe and diagram creations, or circuits diagramming among others, it helps complementing autocad and powerpoint for presenting ...

Fast Diagrams Made Easy!

What do you like best? With Microsoft Visio you can create any type of diagram you can think of. I like the fact that you can choose your diagrams category like networking and drag and drop the icons were you need them. What do you dislike? I would like to see more icon packages to expand the default categories. Other than that it's pretty solid software. Recommendations to others considering the product: I highly recommend Microsoft Visio if you're looking to design diagrams. What ...

Microsoft Visio is the only Microsoft Office package I have and I use it frequently

What do you like best? I like that I can use Microsoft Visio to create a diagram when I want to make a quick visual explanation of how something works, and store it as documentation. What do you dislike? There are many types of icons/graphics missing from the library which I would like to see added. If I copy them from Google Images, the quality isn't as good as they have square borders. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Oftentimes I ...

Very good for making network diagrams

What do you like best? I like that I can make network diagrams with Microsoft Visio, to show how the network in our office works, so we have a reference when engineers come in or staff have problems. What do you dislike? I would like to see automatic creation of network diagrams by network scanning, and perhaps a live feed of network status. Recommendations to others considering the product: It does not do automatic network diagram creation. What problems are you solving with the ...
