Mostly outstanding, but simple changes can make it better

Memrise is an excellent tool for memorizing specific words and phrases, unlike any other app, where vocabulary constantly slips out of your mind. Lack of Cultural Awareness

I am in the UK and have received an email from Memrise with the subject Line "Happy 11.11". In the the UK 11th November is our Remembrance Day for those who gave their lives for our today, therefore, a day of solemn reflection. Would you send out "Happy 09.11" emails to customers in the States? I thought not. Talk about tone deaf.

Didn't really manage to learn that much after a year of usage. It's decent to learn entry level language skills, but if you want some advanced skills you have to do something more.

Immoral payments

Without any prior notification memrise took $100 out of my PayPal account as part of one of those very sneaky methods this company use to fleece people of their money. Surely there should be some warning that the payment is upcoming and more importantly when signing up for this app it should be clearly stated that this company plans to fleece your bank account every year thereafter. I haven't used the app since the first few months and they know that's the case with many people and prey on ...

sometimes uses bad English! to worse Chinese

Several times in the past week, Memrise has used slang american terms i do not know and local expressions which my partner ( native speaker with a doctorate in Law from Beijing) cannot understand. several expressions used were sarcastic and thus could lead to offense. Others were coarse expressions a learner should avoid.

What do you like best about Memrise? The best thing about Memrise is that it gives you multiple options to learn whichever language you need. The interface of the app is also user-friendly and easy to understand. It teaches through multiple audio and video clips with people speaking your language in their native accents. The app is filled with exercises and tasks which will teach you new words and phrases every day. It also reminds you of your previous learning so that you won't forget ...

Learning Spanish on Memrise is…

Spanish on Memrise is brilliant. I've also tried Busuu and Duolingo but I like Memrise the best, as I am learning lots. Reviews about payments are nothing to do with the actual learning, so it's 5 stars from me!
