"Polygon modelling and photo realistic rendering "

What do you like best about Maya? Class A quality modelling as its polygon modelling. Reflections are in sync due to one surface. What do you dislike about Maya? Correcting a surface may lead to correction of lots of vertex points. You end up spoiling other parts of surfaces sometimes What problems is Maya solving and how is that benefiting you? Fast modelling and realisation of forms. Lighting and rendering is realistic.

"a brilliant software - that is hard to get into at the beginning"

What do you like best about Maya? the brilliant depth of software and the flexibility for creating custom looks. That there are possibilities to use plug-inns for even more special features What do you dislike about Maya? The fact that, as a starter it is a really hard to get into - it appears overwhelming at the start - complex UI . It perhaps seems as if the software is trying to be too many different things. After initial stages of learning - that stops to seem a problem Recommendations ...

"Great, But complex!"

What do you like best about Maya? The sheer amount of things you can do! Can be used for modelling, texturing, rendering, Everything! What do you dislike about Maya? Everything comes with a very steep learning curve. Recommendations to others considering Maya: Expensive, so more for professionals. Try blender if wanting to test out 3d!! What problems is Maya solving and how is that benefiting you? It's the main program for animation, and hard surface modelling.

"3D Professional"

What do you like best about Maya? Maya allows you to tackle any part of production. You can model, animate and create Visual Effect. The interface is highly customizable and also the learning curve is not very steep. What do you dislike about Maya? Some part of the software could be easier to learn and navigate. Moreover, considering other similar softwares which do the same job, the license is pretty expensive (student version comes free). Recommendations to others considering Maya: Maya ...

"Best 3d program that is available - all in one "

Support for scripting languages is good and everybody can make plugins for Autodesk Maya with C++. memory handling is excellent. Options for making custom menus are the best in this industry since Maya was one of the first programs to allow so many customisations for the users. Very good for beginners since ...

"Maya is great for the most part."

What do you like best about Maya? I love just how many things you can do with it. It's the whole package. I like that I don't have to use separate programs when modeling, animating, rigging or rendering. What do you dislike about Maya? I don't like how temperamental it can be. Sometimes strange problems will happen with it that seemingly have no fix. What problems is Maya solving and how is that benefiting you? It solves the need for multiple programs in the pipeline which saves a lot of ...

"A powerful modelling engine! "

What do you like best about Maya? The range of possibility with a large array of tools is staggering. There's always a special trick, tool or technique to build anything, from grass to engines. The scale is impressive enough to even have people gain years of practice, and only have a niche of Maya that they excel in, with others finding other strong points in the same program. This concept is simply mind-boggling to me, and always earns my respect! What do you dislike about Maya? Very ...
