"Open Source Database for Startups and Mid Scale Businesses"

What do you like best about MariaDB? There are hundreds of costs involved when starting a business. You can only pay for a few and use the rest for core business ops. MariaDB is an open-source database used by many big organizations. It is built by devs of MySQL and runs just like it. Setting it up (for example - on AWS, MariaDB is the default database engine), operating it, and finding developers to work on it are easy and cost-effective. What do you dislike about MariaDB? MariaDB has ...

"Great drop in MySQL replacement"

What do you like best about MariaDB? When you need a quick relational DB, open source MariaDB is there for you. What do you dislike about MariaDB? Fewer cloud providers offer this as an engine. Recommendations to others considering MariaDB: You should first choose an engine supported by your cloud provider of choice. If MariaDB is not an option, choose MySQL, but for any local development go ahead and install MariaDB. What problems is MariaDB solving and how is that benefiting ...

"wonderful database, Maria DB!"

What do you like best about MariaDB? The best thing I like about MariaDB is that it is super-compatible with MySQL, by which new users won't find it difficult to shift and start the work from the get go. What do you dislike about MariaDB? Although MariaDB is super-comaptible with MySQL, it still has some problems with some third-party tools, so, if you are new and use multiple third party tools then you might face some problems. What problems is MariaDB solving and how is that benefiting ...

"hands down the best database powering 90% of the internet 💪"

What do you like best about MariaDB? it is mighty yet it's open source. it truly brings transformative power to the internet landscape. RDBMS, ACID compliance, Triggers, Procedures, Sharding & Speed. What do you dislike about MariaDB? perhaps an inbuild first-party GUI to interact with the database as it is mainly used by a web application that often has visual web pages. almost always I've used it with PHPMyAdmin so the first party would be much appreciated. What problems is MariaDB ...

"Good performance at scale"

What do you like best about MariaDB? MariaDB was one of the first of similar relational databases to offer JSON support, and I find they continue to provide more robust features related to JSON usage. It's also nice that it's a drop-in replacement for MySQL which makes migration pretty easy. What do you dislike about MariaDB? Since it has a smaller user base than MySQL, it might be harder to find tutorials or community examples for all use cases that you might be interested in experimenting ...
