"Getting features out of the dark"

What do you like best about LaunchDarkly? Fast setup, easy to learn interface, fast toggle of features What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly? Limited seats for developers/PMs/designers. Cost of each addition tool/addon, forces us into the enterprise tier. Recommendations to others considering LaunchDarkly: Consider the seat limitation before purchasing. Be prepared to teach your company new practices about the best way to set up feature flags. What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how ...

"IT admin managing users via sso"

What do you like best about LaunchDarkly? SSO implementation is okta was easy. Straightforward and support to assist when needed. SCIM provisioning is extremely important so there are less manual tasks during on and off boarding of users What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly? Having more flexible and easy plan upgrades and downgrades would make the problem of running out of seats less of a problem What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you? "Intuitive Feature Flagging Software"

What do you like best about LaunchDarkly? I like the ability to add complex configurations that allow for very granular feature flagging. What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly? Sometimes feature flag changes are slow and take several minutes or more to be committed. Additionally, a LaunchDarkly outage took several hours to resolve with no backup or workaround for users. What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you? LaunchDarkly allows engineers and customer service ...

"Very good tool for feature flags! highly recommended!"

What do you like best about LaunchDarkly? The complex conditions you can target in order to turn on/off feature flags in your system What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly? if you target a lot of specific users manually, it's hard to track on who you is targeted and who not, and it's hard to make an operation on multiple users What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you? I can deploy critical changes in my system to production and still to be on the safe side that ...

"Great tool for deploying"

What do you like best about LaunchDarkly? I have been using LaunchDarkly recently and it does a perfect job of controlling release of new features. I found that it can easily handle feature flags across several environments at the same time and it makes it easier for specific users to turn them on or off. What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly? The large extent of flags makes it difficult to manage. To a new user it takes some time to understand and implement. What problems is LaunchDarkly ...

"LaunchDarkly makes releasing functionality a breeze using flags."

What do you like best about LaunchDarkly? We use LaunchDarkly to separate the Deploy and Release aspects of changes. The R&D team implements LaunchDarkly flags in code, and then by using the user targeting functionality the QA team can validate the changes with flag on and off. The main point is testing with flag off, as this means that master can be deployed to production at any point with the flag remaining off, so we don't have to worry about breaking existing functionality by using ...

"LaunchDarkly has been a great product & the team has been great to work with"

What do you like best about LaunchDarkly? I'm not aware of any other product available that competes with Launch Darkly. Setup and integration has been fairly easy and the product is flexible enough to make it work for my organization without trying to conform to rigid patterns. Well documented SDKs are available for a variety of languages/platforms. The SDKs are consistent without being "cookie-cutter". They take advantage of the strengths & tendencies of the language & platform they were ...

"LaunchDarkly will change your product / development cycle for the better....it's a game changer."

What do you like best about LaunchDarkly? Feature flagging is such a game-changer, and LaunchDarkly makes it so easy. The UI and logic is straightforward to navigate and follow. Giving us the ability to test in production is huge and made such a difference to our production development. What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly? The APIs are a little cumbersome to get our head around, with the response properties not as straightforward as they could be. However, once you have got your head ...

What do you like best about LaunchDarkly? Very user-friendly! Customer support team is great, very responsive. What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly? Nothing to dislike - any feedback given to the team is taken and acted upon! What problems is LaunchDarkly solving and how is that benefiting you? Scheduling - being able to schedule features to enable off hours. Opting out specific customers - we deliver a lot of features and sometimes customers don't want them.

"Great for launching beta features"

What do you like best about LaunchDarkly? Great for rolling out features slowly for beta testing in production. I would say it is less well suited for toggling features permanently for users as this requires more integration with our backend and billing systems that would be a lot of work to set up. What do you dislike about LaunchDarkly? The pricing model means that to get adequate users to enable sensible auditing is very expensive. We have ended up sharing users between engineers just to ...
