Built a couple of websites using Joomla

What do you like best? The best thing in Joomla! is its community. Whenever I had any issue, if any, I was able to find either an extension that met my requirements or someone who could help me with his/her experience with Joomla. The other thing I really liked is that Joomla comes with a lot of things installed with default installer. I don't have to think about adding new plugins/extensions to build a simple company website, like in Wordpress. What do you dislike? The thing I dislike ...

Backend is not user-friendly, documentation lacks severely

What do you like best? The user access levels is good, it is a pretty good system for giving rights to different groups of users. Also, the multilanguage side of Joomla is pretty easy to set up. What do you dislike? The documentation on Joomla is horrible. It is almost like the Joomla developpers do not want people to learn how to use the CMS. Most of the time, when you google for answers, you find old outdated solutions. The documentation is what I hate the most about Joomla. Also, I ...

Awesome Content Management System

What do you like best? I like that Joomla is an open-source CMS and that there are an abundant amount of extensions so help make it an even more powerful platform to create a website. I also love that I am able to build a ecommerce site with not a lot of programming skills. What do you dislike? There is a slight learning curve to really get a handle on Joomla and making it SEO-friendly, however, once you do that, you are well on your way to an optimal website. Recommendations to others ...

Joomla is great

What do you like best? I like how easy it is to navigate and upload content. I also like how it is constantly updated. What do you dislike? I disliked how steep the learning curve was when coming from other platforms. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We used Joomla as our main CMS for our website to attract new business.

Joomla is very comparable with WordPress or Ingeniux

What do you like best? Easy to navigate, update content, structure is similar to other CMSs. I was able to customize it without any help or support. Pretty self explanatory. What do you dislike? When we were moving with upgrade, many pages were simply broken, so, I had manually re-built them, took about a week to finish. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? The site was built for a small theater. Worked great for event advertising, ...

Overall - decent foundation for website

What do you like best? I like the fact that there are many developers who know this platform. Being a small business, I can't afford to hire my own full-time staff. It is good to know if for some reason something happens to the development team I am using that there are others that can pick up where they left off without it being fully proprietary. It is also nice to know there are many apps pre-written that can help address most any requirement. What do you dislike? The performance at ...

Vast amount of extensions and broad community

What do you like best? Joomla is a stable and transparent Content Management System - as any open-source product ought to be. It offers free and commercial extension for almost any need you require. Thus it is versatile and flexible, and yet easy to install and maintain. The Joomla policy of using GNU license is helpful if you are owner of several Joomla domains, as a license for extension can usually be used on several domains (support might be limited in that case, or subject to further ...

Strikes a good balance between flexibility and usability

What do you like best? Joomla is easy to implement, use and customize. There are enough extensions available to create the right website for your needs, and you don't need a background in web development to do it. Like Drupal, it's open source with a vast community of users, so if there's a feature you're missing, chances are good that someone else is working on a content extension to fill that need. What do you dislike? It's not quite as customizable as Drupal, nor is it as user-friendly ...
