It can get tricky really fast, but its worth it

What do you like best? It offers so much customization for content creators, developers, designers, etc. Its modular system makes it easy to put on new content. There are a lot of templates that you can use, for every type of website you might run. Also a lot of plugins for enhanced functions that you could imagine. What do you dislike? If you are not carefull it can get tricky to customize really fast. Difference between versions are huge, so its recommended to stay within one version ...

An ok CMS for free/cheap

What do you like best? I suppose the best thing that can be said about Joomla is that it's easy for non-technical users. The content management system is likely better understood by the average person who hasn't dealt with a CMS before, and for the price (normally free + however much they spend to get a template for their site, it's a decent choice. What do you dislike? If I compare joomla to another free CMS such as umbraco, I feel like it has a lot of shortcomings. And as someone who ...

Joomla tries to make websites quick and easy.

What do you like best? Makes managing websites easier than manually coding them. Allows clients without technical knowhow to do minor changes to text and images. (Although they do struggle. Lots of nice themes. Secure(ish What do you dislike? Our site is now filled with 3rd party modules to make it look and feel how we want it to. This now means that staff without technical knowhow struggle to update it themselves. It is know where near as user friendly as the alternatives. ...

Powerful Content Management System for Business

What do you like best? Having a prebuilt front and backend is wonderful when building websites. Themes can be easily implemented and there are many free options for expanding the site. Functionality is fluid with a database created automatically allowing you to avoid the complexities of SQL. Extensions are available for both front and backend functions that can be added or deleted at any time. The customization is expansive, such as delegating user privileges by select individual accounts ...

Joomla - easy to use if you're not a Rocket Scientist

What do you like best? Rapid, easy deployment on most hosting platforms. One click install helps many novice users get up and running quickly, especially those without any technical experience. Open source, tons of plugins (many of them free, easier to learn compared to other content management systems. To summarize, Joomla is: easy to learn, flexible and stable/secure. What do you dislike? I don't have much to say negatively about the platform, but compared to Wordpress, there just ...

I've tried most of open source CMS, but I can't find a better than Joomla!

What do you like best? In general, I like the community, I like the people who contribute on Joomla! Project, are very wonderful people. Technically I like the impressive features, the plethora of extensions, the stability of versions, and on every release is getting better and better. Also, I want to say a big thank you, and wish happy birthday to Joomla!. Ten wonderful years with Joomla. I remember, I was a student when I started to build my first website with HTML. I didn't know ...

Joomla Developer since 2006

What do you like best? Joomla's code is being refactored to use some modern design patterns, built on top of a good framework, with many good extensions available. It has a good event system which allows to intercept events and create plugins to customize almost everything. What do you dislike? Its native content component is not so flexible. You need to go throw a custom component or 3rd party extensions to customize the content in a deeper level. Recommendations to others considering ...

Choosing between WordPress and Joomla, I definitely will choose Joomla!

What do you like best? Architecture. It is beautiful. The developer can easily override anything. Flexibility. You can create your own blog within minutes. Or full strength online media. Intrenet store? Easily! Forum? Oh sure! And using CCK you can create anything. And if you're a bit handy with programming - you do not have any problems. What do you dislike? We have much to improve in Joomla. And it's great. Documentation little behind. Module Management could have been better. ...

Joomla a good development platform for highly customized websites

What do you like best? I have used Joomla since its inception and was using the precursor Mambo before that. So I know the platform very well, which means that it is a very efficient tool. Also, the way you work with the system has not changed that much over the years, while the codebase certainly has. Why I started using it, before Wordpress was popular, was because it was the most popular of the CMS systems that was highly customizable. There is large library of free and paid ...

I love this CMS and I can no longer do without it

What do you like best? The scalability of the platform and the fact that there are many very free powerful extensions (Akeeba Backup, Kunena Forum, Helix3, ... What do you dislike? The only unpleasant experience was that I was once wrongly judge by the community. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Create my personal site, launch my project startup. With Joomla, I almost became a celebrity.
