"It's simple to use, even for someone without video editing experience!"

What do you like best about iMovie? The simplicity is great. It offers just enough functions to make a nice video but not so much that you feel overwhelmed with the user interface. What do you dislike about iMovie? It could use a better selection of audio tracks, but royalty-free tracks aren't too hard to find online. Recommendations to others considering iMovie: Considering it's free with the purchase of a Mac, you really can't beat what it offers. What problems is iMovie solving and how ...

"Apple friendly program to great movies and videos"

What do you like best about iMovie? I use iMovie very often for both work and pleasure purposes. It has some really nice features including titles and effects that can be used to improve the quality of any video. There are many nifty ways to loop together and layer clips to create a more interesting movie. What do you dislike about iMovie? There have been many glitches in the iMovie program. For instance, the date and time stamps are often incorrect and I have also run into many importing ...

"Great for teaching and for basic editing!"

What do you like best about iMovie? I use iMovie to teach beginning film students to edit. Its a great program for the basics, and helps me teach intro editing concepts! Its great for short, simple projects, too! What do you dislike about iMovie? There are not a ton of options in iMovie like you get with more advanced professional editing tools. I wish it had more options for fine-tuning projects, like being able to cut clips with more precision. Recommendations to others considering ...

I forget how to use it when I have not used it for awhile. What problems is iMovie solving and how is that benefiting you? Being able to edit videos.

"Great introductory video editing software despite shortfalls"

What do you like best about iMovie? The fact that iMovie is free to download with a Mac computer makes Apple a desirable option for designers and those looking to have access to a basic video editing software. Even as I have become more experienced in video editing, I continue to use iMovie because of its easy-to-use interface, simplicity, and its free price. What do you dislike about iMovie? I do wish that there was slightly more functionality in certain areas of iMovie or plug-ins that ...

"Imovie Review"

What do you like best about iMovie? I like Imovie because it is a basic and easy video editing software. It allows you to make a great slideshow or movie in a short amount of time. Saving the video is also helpful because you are able to save it In different formats and sizes What do you dislike about iMovie? It is very basic so you can not add many effects besides the preloaded effects, ...

"Free and sufficient for quick editing needs"

What do you like best about iMovie? It's free with the Mac OS and can meet most basic editing needs (splicing, stringing clips together, overlaying music, etc.) but isn't super intuitive and wouldn't be good for advanced editing that requires more cuts / transitions / etc. What do you dislike about iMovie? It's limited in what you can do and cutting clips isn't as intuitive as it should be. What problems is iMovie solving and how is that benefiting you? Quick and easy for creating internal ...

"Easy, Best way to create short films"

What do you like best about iMovie? It allows easy creation of videos by importing photos or videos to use, or using the templates. Rendering takes only minutes and your video is easy to complete and share to Social media. You are able to create real production with overlays and all the tools are there for professional videos. "Slight learning curve to get started, but works well"

What do you like best about iMovie? Even for a newbie it can help clean up and make even the most roughly shot videos somewhat normal. What do you dislike about iMovie? Slight learning curve, but Google is a useful resource. What problems is iMovie solving and how is that benefiting you? It really helps with low quality video production for items shot via iPhone. Wouldn't recommend it for professional level work, but could be my lack of experience.
