Best platform for code storage and exchange
What do you like best? easy to handle, great collaboration tools, free for hobbyists and small companies. Very stable operation and always reliable. The built in code editor and the possibility to navigate thru a complex code base by clicking function names is a perfect add on. What I also like is the possibility to explore unknown code from open source projects, when they are hosted on github. Searching for snippets and function names is most easiest in github in comparison to any ...

Makes managing files very easy
What do you like best? It is very good at what it does. Managing versions of code. Helping people work on multiple sections of same code base. It is also easy to revert back code and manage your development. It is essential for any larger code base with the feature files handling different functionality. It is great to use and makes code production easy with no fear to lose changes. What do you dislike? It is difficult to use due to its vastness of scope. In case of conflict it ...

Market leader for a reason
What do you like best? Github is the market leader in git version control hosting and hosts the majority of open source code. It works well for collaboration through a well-designed code review process with features for code comments, pull request labels and more. Since last year they offer a very generous free tier, even for corporate accounts. What do you dislike? Github is notorious for having performance issues, over the last 3 months I have experienced 4-5 outages, where ...

Best platform for version control and source code management
What do you like best? Allows constant revisions to code and provides an interactive environment to share code with like minded people and recruiters. Enables us to showcase our coding skills and projects like a social media platform. It is an excellent medium to keep track of all the versions of my code, including historic and current ones. The readme feature is a very good way to maintain in depth documentation and lets you describe all the features of your projects. Since ...

Another great thing is unlimited and great sample codes about anything you want. What do you dislike? I am not sure this but I can add that limitation of github team members quantity with five . Recommendations to others considering the product: It is the good way control the app development . What ...

Best open source repository in the world and very easy to work with
What do you like best? It's already included in my 2 favorite code editors Atom and Pycharm and you don't need to leave the editor at all to work with GitHub. I only check the web version from time to time to make sure everything is well aligned and documented properly in the web version but functionality wise you could use it without even knowing there is a website. What do you dislike? Microsoft really improved GitHub since the acquisition in 2018 especially the security of it but ...

The best platform to manage your team and repositories
What do you like best? I love GitHub mainly because I am able to to use it as a full management tool for our code base and repositories. I can assign tickets, keep track of edits, and manage our teams productivity all in one place. I also love that you're able to roll back to previous updates upon finding a code breaking bug. What do you dislike? I hate the pay per user model Github has. We hire alot of contracted workers and freelancers to contribute towards our code base. However we ...

Manage your source code
What do you like best? Github allows me to have backups of my source code so if I lose my computer for whatever reason, I will not use my code. The basic version is free so I do not have to worry about the cost of using a version control software. The basic version has private repositories so I could use it for my PhD research with sensitive datasets. What do you dislike? I am using the basic features of Github and I do not have any problem at the moment. What problems are you ...
