A purely awesome tool!

PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? I like the fact that it's free --- as long as you don't mind having your code posted in public. I like how you can have the ability to host a site. Their hosting is blazing fast! What aspects are problematic or could work better? I make use of GitHub while in the classroom. But somehow, the domain name I want won't work. I suspect this is an issue directly from GitHub itself. What specific problems in your company were solved by ...

A recommemded social network for coders.

PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? You can take out a code from others in a single click. Then you can hack into it and make enhancements. Then you can have it sent back, discuss what needs to b done, or simply create a better version of it on your own. Its network tree is an awesome functionality. You get to see each fork version, observe changes made, and picking the main version for usage or a version to use against. What aspects are problematic or could work ...

One of the best things out there!

PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? It's simple, intuitive, and very powerful. You can find just about everything on the support pages. If you want to reach out to them, they'll get back to you in no time. What aspects are problematic or could work better? I don't find their initial page favorable. But it's very useful for people who are following other people. Once you're able to fork a project, it becomes a bit of challenge to keep it updated. I know there are ...

An essential tool when it comes to open source projects.

PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? Its user interface is easy on the eyes. It's straigtforward approach makes its simple to operate and explore through varying code repositories. Having free public repositories makes this a keeper. It comes with an excellent API that lets you control your repositories via other tools. What aspects are problematic or could work better? I was hoping it would have a bit more in terms of functionality for organizing tickets/work in its ...

One stop solution for Code review and version control

What do you like best? The very fact that GitHub is used worldwide by almost everyone makes it a one-stop solution for every version control tasks and code review. It has a very clean and simple UI and a very lean learning curve making it easier for beginners. What do you dislike? GitHub counts every action of a user and adds it to their contribution, no matter how useless a contribution is. This makes it really difficult to judge a user based on his/her GitHub profile. What ...

Open source and easy to use

What do you like best? Github is an online website, a client, and CI. It has many integrations with several different types of GUIs. It also integrates easily with many workflows. Being able to work with multiple people across different code bases and different regions is only possible with tools like git. What do you dislike? It has a little bit of a learning curve. There's also some annoyances of using it personally and having to buy a subscription to maintain private code. ...

Digital way of sharing codes for version control & better collaboration

What do you like best? GitHub has recently introduced a feature naming Gists that lets the user convert one or multiple files into a working git repository. Moreover, our developers' remote team shares and collaborates on codes comfortably and securely with GitHub online application. What do you dislike? Though GitHub offers private repositories, this isn't enough while talking about security since those files are online. Also, there are many limitations in terms of actions and ...

Home for Modern Developers

What do you like best? Though its needless to say the wide usage of git today, still I would love to list down the positives of signing up on Github and availing the following advantages: 1) It is an open source collaborative service which allows multiple developers across the globe to collab for different tasks at the same time in a quite efficient manner. The way it is organized is too well. 2) We can do any task, starting from a college assignment to a large scale project on ...
