Great software even for an armature

What do you like best? I like that the software has all the features I need for free. I'm an armature when it comes to photo editing and is something I do infrequently so buying expensive subscription based software doesn't makes sense for me. I also love that the software is very popular so it's easy to find lots of tutorials and walk throughs. I've had no issues making the image manipulations I need. What do you dislike? I wouldn't say dislike but it is a very robust software so it ...

Not exactly Photoshop but Darn Close

What do you like best? I like that it is a quality editor that is free. What do you dislike? I wish it were more like Photoshop which I used for years but had to leave behind when I changed jobs. Recommendations to others considering the product: I would give it a try and see if you like it. Spend some time learning the program rather than being frustrated with it if you don't know what you are doing. It is probably good enough for most business users' needs for basic photo ...

All image editing in GIMP.

Great program to edit images.

What do you like best? Instead of paying the high license fee for Adobe Creative Suite I love that GIMP is free and very useful for image edition. For me, this is Photoshop's most comprehensive choice. If you've got time to learn the method and the fundamentals of digital photography and image editing theory, it's the method for you. Linux and Windows are available, and all common image formats can be used: png, jpg, bpm, and gif. It has the capacity to edit filters, effects, layers and ...

Great free alternative to photoshop

What do you like best? It's free! And for being free you still get a lot of the same tools you would get with a paid product. What do you dislike? No collaboration and no internal image database like you have with Adobe Photoshop. The interface isn't the best, definitely takes some getting used to. Also, as far as I know there isn't any direct customer support so if you need help you just have to Google and hope for the best. Recommendations to others considering the product: If ...

Still lacking in terms of advanced features from alternatives but comes really close. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Simple image manipulation for a free cost.

The image rendering is quite smooth, and end product is perfectly aligned. What do you dislike? Sometimes, the software lags a lot and needs a lot of CPU memory to run. The blur effect doesn't work as a professional editor does sometimes What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits ...
