Changed our life

What do you like best? It is fast, it is robust, it's APIs are very very well designed What do you dislike? I don't have any complains at the moment What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We are using it with Kibana to store and analyse our Application Logs. It fullfills our notsoBIG DATA needs which are not so pressing as to decide to build a Hadoop infrastructure. This is a much more ready to use tool

Incredibly powerful, large learning curve

What do you like best? Elasticsearch is a great product for building large and very powerful search... With great power comes great responsibility though... There's a large learning curve to get up and running, but overall it can really be worth it when you need to have powerful search features across a huge number of documents. What do you dislike? The learning curve can be very daunting (the first ES book was probably 4x thicker than any other programming book I own. Recommendations ...

Powerful full text search server

What do you like best? Integration with Kibana and Logstash turns it into a powerful data and trend visualisation tool with the ability to run ad hoc queries. HTTP interface and schemaless nature allow users flexibility to modify both data stored and queries run as needed. What do you dislike? Can be hard to debug even with plugins such as kopf. High hardware requirements to run efficiently. Recommendations to others considering the product: Powerful but consider options ...

ElasticSearch for ELK

What do you like best? It's open source, free, fast and the basic stack is quick to install and get running. The fact that it is well bundled with ELK (log stash and kibana make it awesome for aggregating and searching logs. it also works really well as a cache for semistructured data and on top of a hadoop cluster. It's a great utility product for many uses from one cluster. What do you dislike? It's a bit hard to optimize and if you don't carefully monitor it, you will have weird ...
