Good, but too expensive

Free version has too many ads and is almost unusable. Paid version is good and fun.

Small glitch in section 2 explorer (spanish)

Hi duo today I just wanted to point out a small glitch. (I'm in section 2 explorer of spanish for context) I've been learing new words but when you're learning new words there supposed to teach you them first by doing the usual they pop up as purple and sometimes you match the word to the picture to get you started but it hasn't been doing that I've been having to guess I mean it's not too hard but I just wanted to let you know, OK bye!

They need to do a better job.

They rip people off, I live in Mexico City and none of what they are teaching pertains to here. They take away more than teach. It seems like they want to penalize you for learning. (IE: when you get to legendary level they start out with 80 extra points but ten minutes later it is down to 40. Then half the time you can't understand a word they are saying it sounds like they have cotton stuck in their mouths.

Wonderful teacher. Ideology manipulator though

Love it as a highly effective way for learning languages I found manipulative and unfair the way it imposes a gender understanding which sounds to me one-sided and biased

Does not teach a wide enough vocabulary

I have used it for a number of years, but got to the point where it often repeated the same words and phrases which was very annoying. So in the end cancelled the membership.

Ok, but there are some problems...

It's a decent way of getting regular Spanish practice. There are, however, a few frustrating things about it. I'm not a fan of the exhortations to "compete on the leaderboard!" as that has nothing to do with my personal best. They afford "Night Owl" and "Early Bird" chests that double your scoring power, but you're not always able to access them, even when you've practiced within the required time frame. I've also had bonuses for Friends Quests disappear within a ridiculously small window, ...

Not a bad way to get started with a new language although if you want to keep it free it can be very difficult. You need hearts to be able to continue lessons but it is made extremely difficult when doing listening exercises for a couple of reasons. 1. While most of the speakers are fine there are a couple who are very indistinct making it difficult to understand them. 2 When trying to match the words being spoken with what is written it is often the case that sometimes there are at least ...

Although I enjoy learning and the inclusive nature of the app - the ads killed it for me. Not because they run ads to keep costs down for free accounts but because I am constantly being bombarded with "Let's pray daily" ads with gospel verses. With all that is going on with Evangelical Americans and incel culture, I don't want to be indoctrinated every day. Apparently even in the lessons some people complained about some sentences with Jesus wishes. I prefer to support secular programs.

Pro version ok but limited at the end…

I got the Pro version to improve my basic German. There are 7 units. It starts from the beginning, which was fine for me. I think that if I had known nothing about German grammar it could have been difficult - German grammar is complex for most English speakers. For me it was good revision and practice. The sixth unit is all revision, which got tiresome after a while. The seventh unit was more of the same. There were places where whole lessons were repeated unchanged. There a frequent ...
