Excellent monitoring and operational metrics for cloud and containerized applications
What do you like best? Highly performant visualizations and metric math. Very cost effective for their metric service. What do you dislike? Logs service is expensive, although reasonably so. Somewhat frequent issues with metric ingest. Recommendations to others considering the product: It's easy to do a detailed evaluation for free or nearly so. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Operations monitoring and application performance.

Efficient performance monitoring tool
What do you like best? Easy to use, simple installation, great features which allow you to observe variety of metrics and extract critical observations about system performance. CPU monitoring is very useful. Creating graphs and metric customization is easy. What do you dislike? User interface is technical, not a naive user's playground. Learning the basics can be time-consuming at first. Recommendations to others considering the product: Datadog is highly efficient once the users ...

Great Experience but not PCI Compliant
What do you like best? Love their integration with almost all popular frameworks out there. Can get started in just one line agent installation. Looked into their Log management solution which is also great! What do you dislike? Alas, they are not PCI compliant therefore exporting logs to them becomes a challenge as it comes under purview of PCI. Recommendations to others considering the product: Best for small infrastructures as too costly for bigger ones. What problems are you ...

Great out of the box experience
What do you like best? The fact that its extremely easy to get started. The agent install is a one line command and you are good to go. Integration with all popular channels such as Slack, Pagerduty. Ready made dashboards add to the charm as absolutely low barrier to entry and sensible defaults. What do you dislike? Too costly. 15 USD for one host is way too much for a startup who has close to 10 servers which can be expected. They do provide a free account for upto 5 hosts though. ...

Simple setup and usage of dashboard service.
PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? Setting things up and utilizing in code was simple enough. With just few lines of code calling through the library, it becomes a highly scalable and useful counter service. UI is simple. It comes with essential features you'd come to expect from a counter service. What aspects are problematic or could work better? Nothing specific. But there's one thing to take note. The more data you own, the slower its service will be. Expect its ...

A product that's easy on users.
PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? Setup was easy. The UI is simple and clean. User-friendly in a lot of ways. If you had expereience of StatsD/Grafana then you'll be glad how easy this can be. What aspects are problematic or could work better? One time, we moved our servers to another host. As a result, we had to pay twice as much for a few months since we didn't switch the Datadog agents on our older servers. It pays to be careful. Ask for further details if you ...

Offers versatility. It'd be nice if it came with support for wallboard.
PROS & CONS What are the best aspects of this product? Flexibility at its finest. It's capable of tracking just about any metric out there. Great dashboad functionality. Dashboards can easily be shared. What aspects are problematic or could work better? Its agent hogs a lot of memory. Its front-end allows you to make different kinds of graphs. It's a bit difficult in making a TV-friendly dashboard that can read from far off. From time to time, a user would get logged out. What specific ...
