"Best graphing software out there"

What do you like best about Cacti? Cacti is fast, flexible and best of all it's open source. If our equipment doesn't support SNMP but does have some other API, we are able to write collection scripts for Cacti so that we can graph pretty much anything. What do you dislike about Cacti? So far I haven't found anything I dislike about Cacti. Recommendations to others considering Cacti: Since it is free, you can try it without losing anything. What problems is Cacti solving and how is that ...

We are doing real time monitoring of all the devices on a big screen allowing us to have a firm grip on our network availabiloity

"Long live Cacti"

What do you like best about Cacti? We use Cacti for over 10 years. It's a fundamental part of any network monitoring project we take part of. It's easy to use, yet allows a lot of customisation. The variety of graph templates is really good What do you dislike about Cacti? The community around Cacti is getting smaller. A lot of other "cooler" apps. What problems is Cacti solving and how is that benefiting you? Very strong and detailed network monitoring for free

"Great, simple RRDTool based performance monitoring."

What do you like best about Cacti? Cacti is simple to set up, can monitor pretty much any data source and makes it easy to build custom graphs (and alerts using the "thold" plugin). The plugin' framework added in later versions makes it easily extensible and there are lots of excellent plugins. (earlier versions can be patched to have the plugin architecture too). If there is no template for the device you want to monitor, you can create it yourself with ease. What do you dislike about ...
