Very good

Very good. I like the training videos. Some frustrations with doing searches though. For instance, if my tenant has the last name of "Oh", it will give me lots of other tenants, and even applicants, before I actually get the tenant I'm looking for. But, guess that's just the nature of search engines.

Good Software for property management

Good Software for property management - for managing other people's properties. Lacking a bit on property owners managing their own properties.

Buildium is an excellent site, but Canadians lack services

Buildium is an excellent site. Being from Canada though, there are things that they do which are not useful to us, and things we wish they did, but probably the number os Canadian clients might not justify the expense. Canadian tax system for example. Another problem is that tenant payments by credit card are not extended to Canada. Don't know why, we were no offered a reason.

Buildium Works

Buildium does a great job in helping us keep track and manage our properties. The financials are not as easy as a Quickbooks system, but we are able to keep the property accounts up to date. The lease renewal process gets confusing at times, but it works fair and we have found the work around's. The feature we like the most is keeping track of maintenance request and sending work orders to our vendors.

There are two major deficiencies

There are two major deficiencies: 1. the program does not permit you to put in a date range when reviewing and printing a resident's account statement, you are limited to all, 30 days, 3 moths and 12 months; 2. the recurring charges report aggregates all recurring charges; you should be able to view recurring charges by category, for example: a) common charges, b) special assessments, c) storage, etc.

Overall satisfied. Room for improvement

Overall, solid choice for property management with 100 units and fewer. Have come upon a few minor glitches and could be organized better. Have experienced long wait times on the help line but can usually get through quickly. But once you learn it, it’s pretty user friendly.

I've been a Buildium customer for 3 years, don't make my mistake

I've been a Buildium customer for almost 3 years now. I have to say without reservation, their software is extremely hard to understand and use. I'm a 25-year veteran as a software development executive, I can say their design and user experience is far from what you will be accustomed to in any other task, project, or accounting software. It was designed by property managers, and that shows through in every aspect of usability and UX/UI conventions. Not to mention it is remarkably slower ...

They make it hard and don't care

Our property manangement company has used Buildium for over a year and we can't wait to switch (which unfortunately will take some time, in part because how hard it has been for all our tenants to just get setup in their terrible system). Their customer service is terrible- often taking weeks to respond to inquiries if they ever respond. Their software is poorly designed, burying things inside tons of menus with no breadcrumbs to return to menus. It generally takes 10 steps to do what other ...

The setup process is very involved and…

The setup process is very involved and the interface is not intuitive. After setting up a bank account, and Lin king the account to ALL my properties, and entering data, a month later I received an email that I had transposed two digits of the account number. A simple error, easily fixed, right? WRONG!! Nothing is simple with Buildium. I have to go back and delete ALL entries relating to the old account, then deactivate the account, set up a new account, and because I am "changing accounts" ...
