Fast and simple collaboration tool for small teams
What do you like best? Despite being billed a a "project management" tool, it doesn't come with all the heavy constraints and complexities of many other systems. The focus of Basecamp is in simplicity and collaboration. You can add content via a desktop browser, a mobile web page, or via email. I think the systems simplicity is it's greatest asset. A new user can come up to speed in 15 minutes. What do you dislike? The authentication system is a bit quirky at times. I have had both ...

Basecamp is an excellent project management tool
What do you like best? What Basecamp does best is at its core: to-do lists. The ability to quickly and easily map out a project from start to finish, in phases, is easily the best feature. The templating feature makes setting up new projects easy, and being able to tweak those templates to suit a new projects needs is very helpful. Assigning dates and users to to-dos is also very simple, and an absolute necessity. The dashboard has improved greatly, and being able to see an overview of ...

Great tool for project collaboration
What do you like best? I like the ability to set up project milestones and to-do lists. I like that I'm able to assign to-do list to specific people on a projects. It helps to eliminate the duplication of efforts by other team members. I also like that I'm able to create projects that allow our clients the ability to collaborate with us without. I like the fact that I can specify who can see what within the project and be able to send messages to only those who need the information. What ...

Central station for our to do list & follow up
What do you like best? It keep the conversation in one place. Although we have emails, wiki, agendas, gdocs, bestcamp best feature is notifications of follow up and reminder. We're Indonesian, not a lot of English going on in the groups, yet best camp minimal English instruction works for us non-English speaker What do you dislike? for some reason people don't tick off their to do list after they finished it, it is only later after we decided to use basecamp again because there's some ...

Great Collaborative tool
What do you like best? Love the discussion area, the daily digest sent to my inbox and the ability to manage several levels of users. Also, if you accidentally delete an item, you're able to recover it! What do you dislike? The analytics could use some work and an additional tool would make it easier to identify project milestones and dependencies. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? This is a great tool for project management ...

Excellent team collaboration and project management tool.
What do you like best? Intuitive, easy on the eyes, inexpensive, limited learning curve--we use it and love it. I can manage team projects across several unrelated industries using primarily this one tool. Whether managing a team of network engineers in the field deploying network infrastructure, or a group of subcontractors building single family houses, I can keep tabs on everyone and communicate with my people effortlessly. Training is nearly nonexistent, I just tell people to download ...

Great Project Management tool made better with available add-ons!
What do you like best? This is a very versatile project management tool. We use it from everything in IT, to marketing campaigns to keeping track of employee days off. What do you dislike? It's another tool you have to log into to check what's new. Email alerts work great but having two different places where comments are stored gets a little dicey. That's no fault of Basecamp - just the nature of the beast. Recommendations to others considering the product Take a look at the ...

Tried it our for project management, a bit too complex to my needs
What do you like best? Solid interface, fan of Basecamp as a company. What do you dislike? Somewhat overkill for the sort of small projects I'm usually involved with. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Organizing projects for small teams. Basecamp made the collaboration part easier.

Basecamp Increases my team's productivity by a HUGE amount
What do you like best? It is simple to use. I can organize all of my projects and assign to my team. I can set reminders. What do you dislike? That I can't prioritize tasks for my team. I have to manually print out everything that is assigned to them and tell them what is priority. Recommendations to others considering the product I looked at other more complex project management systems and the ramp up of getting the team to use it defeats the point of having the software in the ...
