A Project Manager's Dream Come True
What do you like best? I have used Basecamp from the client and PM side. I LOVE it from both. I love the to-do list function as you can create internal to-do's for your team and also external and make the client part of the process. What do you dislike? There isn't really anything that I dislike about it. Maybe if it could integrate with my google cal? Maybe it does and I just didn't know that functionality when I used to use it. Recommendations to others considering the product ...

I used this in a previous position managing church teams and function.
What do you like best? Basecamp is great for use in churches and streamlining various committees. It affords confidential use intra-committee, while allowing inter-committee communication. It was so helpful in providing spaces to share files, share ideas, create to-do lists and so much more. In my next church position, I intend to implement its use. It really is such a great format for doing work in large organizations. What do you dislike? I do not dislike anything about the product, ...

Simple, easy to use tool for basic project management.
What do you like best? The best thing about Basecamp is that it's intuitive. It's very easy to pick it up both as a new member of a team, or a client being given access. It's not feature-heavy, but it's robust enough for what you need. What do you dislike? I feel as though other tools do a better job with more robust features around to-do's. Competitor products allow to-do's to span over time, relate back to a milestone, track a milestone's progress according to how many related ...

Mostly satisfied
What do you like best? It is a central place for my managers and for me to see/keep a to-do list of action items. What do you dislike? There is little I dislike about Basecamp except for the way we use it internally as a tool. Not sure there's much that Basecamp can do with that - maybe they could send out external recommendations for how to use Basecamp to increase productivity? Recommendations to others considering the product Everyone on your team needs to be consistent for how ...

Great place to have on going team uploads
What do you like best? We used Basecamp to have screenshots of our and competitors ads that we found throughout the internet. It was an amazing spot that you could upload as many things as you want and start team conversations with what we found. What do you dislike? Nothing! it was perfect for what we used it for Recommendations to others considering the product Super simple, easy place to have a central spot for uploads and conversations with your team What business problems are ...

Decent Project Platform
What do you like best? I like that the admin can create different projects with different access granted to employees. There is also the option to allow public access to specific projects, so business partners can be involved. The option to assign tasks to specific people for specific dates is great, and there are automated reminder emails as the date grows closer. What do you dislike? The projects that are open to the public dont seem to have an option to make certain internal ...

Streamline projects better
What do you like best? I love using the comment and feedback threads inside of each project. It's great to have a channel outside of email, Slack, GChat, etc. to keep my team on the same page. What do you dislike? When first using Basecamp, I found assigning to-dos confusing. There are multiple options for uploading content and starting a project, and sometimes it's hard to decipher which is best. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you ...

Great collaboration tool for in-house and with clients
What do you like best? Being able to store all client-related documents in one location, where both in-house team members and clients can access them. Also, being able to create templates for new projects is very efficient. I like the ability to choose which items are visible to the client too. What do you dislike? It's not a time management platform so don't expect to use it for project management. Recommendations to others considering the product If you are looking for a client ...

Basecamp 3 changed our team communication dynamic
What do you like best? It's easy to include ancillary team members in the conversation and information flow What do you dislike? As great as it is for project management, the newest version (BC3 is rather unwieldy when it comes to looking at the big picture of a project schedule. To-do lists and personal reports are fine, but it would be great to be able to aggregate more time-sensitive interrelated tasks and communicate those effectively among our internal and external team. ...

Basecamp Offers Seamless Communication, Transparency & Accountability
What do you like best? Basecamp provides our agency and our clients the ability to correspond in real-time. It also demonstrates our work to our co-workers and clients to ensure we are doing our jobs. What do you dislike? I prefer Basecamp 2. Basecamp 3 is not as user-friendly, in my opinion. One feature it lacks is the ease of uploading a Google Doc to a task. I also prefer the dashboard in Basecamp 2. Recommendations to others considering the product Basecamp is an affordable ...
