Scalable, Stable and Easy to use Search Engine

What do you like best? Ease of using and setup. We can get up and running in 1-2 days for a simple use case. Building on that is simple and straightforward. Good admin UI to watch the system metrics and delta indexing process which runs at a preset interval. What do you dislike? There is nothing specific that I don't like about Solr. Recommendations to others considering the product: 1. Quick learning curve 2. Easy to code on the client-side. 3. Easy to set up ...

Average Software for Search Optimization

What do you like best? I had personally used Apache Solr in the enterprise web application development which is basically written in java. Besides that, the Apache Solr is also written in java. It is very easy to use and very easy to understand. The main features provided by the Apache Solr, for example, full-text search, real-time indexing, dynamic clustering, database integration, rich document handling and, NoSQL features. What do you dislike? The Apache Solr is an average tool ...

Great document db+ search store

What do you like best? synonyms, infecing, delta query , document sharding plus the schema with regular expressions gives a fantastic edge for representing search data .clustering is great. What do you dislike? not happy that there is no inbuilt javascript library or a datagrid that can interface with solr and search say around 10 million records. solr is for faster retrival, something on the lines of datatable js library would help.this grid shoukd be available as a plugin. ...

Great search mechanism!

What do you like best? A very easy configuration and implementation. Good support with both RDMS like Oracle and NoSQL like Mongo DB. Great way to support type ahead search and one field search in application/product. Very efficient. Support of multi-datasource at a time from one Solr component. Good Solr client APIs for Java developers. What do you dislike? Nothing much but a bit tricky handling for continuously updating data. Need to handle Security carefully by developer. ...

Apache Solr has flexible Query for API and powerful engine

What do you like best? it is very easy and simple to access its data via REST API. The flexibility in adjusting the query in terms of boosting, faceting and more is very useful. What do you dislike? It would be good to handle authentication natively in an enterprise scale. Currently it has to be wrapped by another service that does authentication. Recommendations to others considering the product: It is used whenever high and large data volume needs to be filtered and classified for ...

Solr - Powerful and Flexible Search Engine

What do you like best? Solr is designed from th groud up for scalability. If you are launching a search product and expect demand to grow this is an excellent option. The support community is also excellent. One of the best Open Source projects out there. What do you dislike? For some tasks working with Solr requries customization beyond what is needed with commercial products. Solr lacks some data filters that commercial rpoducts offer. Entity extraction is basic. Recommendations ...
