Alexandria Rocks!

I hardly ever have problems with Alexandria, especially the current school year

Version 7 upgrade

The staff is very accomodating when asked for help. This program is usually user friendly but since the upgrade I personally have had more trouble than in the past. Very thankful for friendly staff !

Tech Support Rocks

I would have given them 5 stars but I have had some trouble with mixed up orders, but despite all that I would recommend them without reservation simply because of their Tech Support. They are the best by far of any company i have ever dealt with.

I am mostly satisfied with Alexandria v7.

I like most of the aspects of Alexandria v7. Having our system be cloud-based helps take some of the worry out of backing up files on our end. Most of the features are similar to v6, but there has been some learning curves. Unfortunately, the training that we paid a lot of money for did not focus on those items that are different from v6, mostly leaving us to figure it out on our own, or over the phone with tech support. There seems to be some bugs to work out, but overall, I am satisfied ...

Overall a good experience

Overall good, I wish reports were easier to put together. There are some stats I'd like to run that aren't available.

Can't get excited about Alexandria

We are using version 6 right now and for the last 6 years and we have always had issues. From using the reports, to printing labels, to getting student information from Power School. The system is not intuitive and I don't care for the cataloging interface when I have to input items manually. I wouldn't recommend it.

My point of view

Most of the time, Alexandria is ok. Sometimes I think there is a lot of clicking here, then there to get the information needed. It's hard to see who had a book out last when it was already checked in, and then I found some damage, and want to see who had it last. the list shows from the first checkout, and I can't see who was last.

I find it more difficult to use.

The software has changed and the things I would be able to accomplish easily with the previous software take me so much longer to figure out now.

Not user friendly

As a new librarian, it's hard to figure out things besides check in and check out.

Alexandria

It's obvious that a librarian was not involved in the design of this software. Including a panel of librarians to facilitate with new versions might mitigate some of the problems (why do I have to click the Renew tab to see what books a child has signed out??, why are books called "items"?)
