"Great product, but takes a bit to get used to the features"
What do you like best about Adobe Captivate? You are able to create a presentation from scratch or upload a prior presentation What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate? When the program is removed from your computer, you lose the ability to view any projects that you have created. You can only view your project when you have the program. "Captivate: A limitless limited tool"
What do you like best about Adobe Captivate? Captivate offers a courseware author a lot of freedom. On first glance it would seem you can do almost anything with it. What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate? Despite having many versions under their belt, Adobe still puts out Captivate chalk full of bugs and strange limits (or atleast, what seems like limits). For example, hiding question buttons on a slide until you want them to show proves nearly impossible (without some fancy effects). ...

"Captivated- kinda"
What do you like best about Adobe Captivate? I like the implicit workflow in the interface design. I like the the fact that it has all the basic features, and in-timeline editing. Preset themes and characters are nice. What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate? Still pretty primitive. Compared to other Adobe products this one has a clunky interface and limited capabilities. Some aspects are less than intuitive. Recommendations to others considering Adobe Captivate: Only Mac friendly app of ...

"Flexible product with many options"
What do you like best about Adobe Captivate? The program is fairly easy to use for simple projects like software demos or video tutorials, and is handy for creating custom tours of online courses at my university. I like that the program provides native support for PowerPoint and lets you customize on import, so you can go from a standard 4:3 to slides sized for delivery on an ipad, for example. I like that Adobe has started adding responsive elements as well, since most of what we create ...

"First Authoring Tool Used"
What do you like best about Adobe Captivate? Adobe Captivate was the first authoring tool I've ever used. It taught me the nuts and bolts of creating simulated elearning and for that I am grateful. What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate? Having been introduced to other authoring tools since using Adobe Captivate, I think the user interface is quite intimidating. There are too many buttons and it is overwhelming to the user. One can become fearful of breaking something or pressing the ...

"Easy to use, but could use more functionality around testing"
What do you like best about Adobe Captivate? I like the flexibility that I am offered when using the product - the diverse range of interactions that I can create to help keep a learner engaged and how easy it is to create my own content. If you can use Power Point, Captivate isn't any more difficult! What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate? Certain limitations within testing functionality... Can't easily create time limits for tests/knowledge checks within an elearn. What problems is ...

"Adobe Captivate"
What do you like best about Adobe Captivate? There is a lot of interactivity available with this software. We build a lot of "choose your own adventure" exercises where learners have the freedom to make choices that impact where they go next. Once you get the hang of creating advanced actions and variables, the possibilities for what you can build are seemingly endless. What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate? There are some accessibility concerns for user with disabilities. While several ...

"Captivate - Use and functionality."
What do you like best about Adobe Captivate? The program is very intuitive and allows for a strong layering of effects, graphics, and outputs well. It handles all media typically used for computer based trainings, and the end result is high quality. Very easy program to learn quickly, and once the program is understood, is able to produce very complex interactions. The ability to manage sound, timeline and other actions are very visible, and easy to follow. What do you dislike about Adobe ...

"New User Success"
What do you like best about Adobe Captivate? The ability to build my slide deck using different features. For example, I was able to build introductory slides then record a software simulation or video demo. I like that these entities are initially a separate file that I can edit and tweak, then copy into the master project. The ease of including features that make the learning meet Section 508 standards for accessibility. When I published the project, I could generate a PDF that was ...
