"All in one."

What do you like best about Ableton Live? That it's the only DAW where you can produce and play live sets. It's very simple and easy to use. I learned to use this program on my own, without any music knowledge. The GUI is very clean, therefore making it easy to layout sounds and compose. I played a live show after 4 days of use. Warping allows you to make more complex live sets with virtually any number of channels or clips playing, and being a DAW, you can use VST effects on those sets ...

"Used Ableton Live during my post grad studies in Motion Design"

What do you like best about Ableton Live? I found that the learning curve is quite easy. I don't have a real musical education/background so, for someone starting out with the software I found it to be quite accessible and easy to learn. The amount of tools available basically let you do whatever you want with the audio. Your imagination is your limit. Very professional and adaptable software that can be transformed into a live performance tool or a studio tool. What do you dislike about ...

"Expert"

What do you like best about Ableton Live? The Session View. I build whole tracks in session view before I send to arraignment view. I'll get it as close to the finished product before i start recording into arrangement view, where i finish the song like i normally do. I also love that it is very compatible 3rd party samples and clips, and have built a huge library of 3rd party tools. What do you dislike about Ableton Live? My dislikes have been not being able to use Max for Live on a mac ...

"Ableton - Creative, Inspiring DAW"

What do you like best about Ableton Live? The ability to work in two layouts: session view and arrangement view. What do you dislike about Ableton Live? There needs to be a score / composing editor section. Would love to be able to print notation in the future. Recommendations to others considering Ableton Live: If you want a creative musical editing palette thats fun, fast, efficient and customizable, this is your daw. What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting ...

"The Most Versatile Digital Audio Workstation Around!"

What do you like best about Ableton Live? Ableton may seem daunting at first, but it does not have that high of a learning curve. The features have all been streamlined and are quite simple to get used to. The timeline mode and the loop mode make it easy to layer and edit songs the way that works best for the user. Every VST plugin that I've used in Ableton so far integrates perfectly. Even the built-in plugins are great to use when getting the hang of audio production. Using any sound clip ...

"Great for Getting Ideas Down, Not for Everything."

What do you like best about Ableton Live? I have used ableton live for years. It was my first choice of a DAW. The ability to create midi and audio ideas and queue them up is great. It feels forgiving and easy to adjust things on the fly. This is a great workflow for a lot of techniques. What do you dislike about Ableton Live? It is great for many purposes but it doesn't fit every need outside of DJing, remixing, and dubstep like I would prefer. Recommendations to others considering Ableton ...

"Ableton"

What do you like best about Ableton Live? this program is absolutely hands down the best software out there to patch together ideas into a full blown arrangement. The looping features on this DAW are really awesome. What do you dislike about Ableton Live? I don't like that it doesn't have as easy to use precision editing tools. I don't like looking in the folders of folders of folders for my plugins. The layout of choosing plugins seems so mid-90's computer style. Recommendations to others ...

"Ableton is changing the way people make music"

What do you like best about Ableton Live? I like how fluid the production process can be on Ableton. The warping, sampling and looping options allow for a lot of combinations and improvisations as a live electronic musician. Their pairing with Max (for Live) is a great way for them to expand sonic capabilities and attract other demographics who are interested in creating things using Max or Max MSP. Honestly, Ableton is an endless software and you can get incredibly detailed with your ...
