ABBYY FineReader 15 great

What do you like best? I particularly like the flexibility of the program to scan to multiple formats. What do you dislike? Not really much to dislike about the program. Occasionally, the instructions might be just a bit more clear, but they're generally just fine. Recommendations to others considering the product: Just keep doing well What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I've been scanning photocopies of documents such as ...

Great OCR!

What do you like best? I love the hot folder feature, makes it effortless to OCR and route documents. What do you dislike? Really, not much. Sometimes the hot folder gets stuck and doesn't pick up a new file but I just need to restart it then it goes again. Recommendations to others considering the product: well worth the investment. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? OCR documents from scanners that don't do it on the fly and ...

good overall but some small issues.

What do you like best? Overall, Abby 14 behaves the way I expect. I bought it for the ocr text recognition. It works well. It also makes editing PDFs easy. What do you dislike? The ocr is good overall, but if a more robust solution came along, I'd consider switching. I also had the known issue with CCleaner that required a reinstall. But even aside from that issue, I've had to use the windows programs menu to repair the software a couple of times. The repair always works and then the ...

Simple product that does what it advertises

What do you like best? Very simple interface that walks you through the process step by step. What do you dislike? Maybe a little pricey for what it does - but the automation makes it worth it.. Recommendations to others considering the product: It is a reliable and stable piece of software that does what it says it will. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Needed better OCR for our digital document management system.

Solid OCR Product, but may not work for all environments

What do you like best? ABBYY Finereader is among the best of the OCR products we have evaluated and used. It is accurate and thorough. I would recommend it for someone looking for quality OCR results. What do you dislike? Because ABBYY started capping off the number of pages you can run through it after version 11, it is no longer useful or cost-effective for our small business as we exceed the number of allowed pages all of the time because of what we process. Recommendations to ...

Great document scanner and editor

What do you like best? I tried Abby Fimereader 14 after Nuance Paperport 14.5 didn’t scale on a 4K display. The interface is easy to understand, and scanning and document editing is quick, and the interface doesn’t lag on a netbook or mini pc. What do you dislike? Fine reader 15 lacks a document database window like.Nuance Paperport 14.5. Also, it lacks auto-text ox recognition and editing that I love about Adobe Acrobat X so much. Recommendations to others considering the product: ...

No compatibility for WordPerfect is a major weakness.

What do you like best? The reliability of its results when scanning documents of various types and sizes. What do you dislike? You may do surveys like this, but you do not respond to user requests such as my request that you RESTORE compatibility with WordPerfect. You used to offer this, but it was removed. Recommendations to others considering the product: Expect fast and accurate OCR. It's the best that I've used in 20 years. What problems are you solving with the product? ...
