New user, just learning the system.

What do you like best? Being able to create both state and custom reports, look up individual student information quickly and easily. What do you dislike? Hard to find information that's missing in state reports What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I use PS to answer daily questions. It's quick and easy in many ways

The Right Mix of Standarization and Customization

What do you like best? The ability to customize fields and forms to meet our needs What do you dislike? The lack of flexibility that one has to change some of the standardized fields. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? PowerSchool allows our district to track and store the data that is most important to us.

Great integration and easy to learn the basics

What do you like best? I love the wide range of plugin support! What do you dislike? Sometimes reference guides can be archaic. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We use powerschool as our central student database for grading and to connect all of our student devices via an MDM solution. This way, we only enter student information once and it updates all of our services via plugins to third-parties.

PowerSchool SIS

What do you like best? We have been using PowerSchool for 5 years, I like that I know how to use it. It was a struggle in the beginning, but thanks to our state reporting support person (Curtis Coulter) and a few PSUs. I feel more confident . What do you dislike? I dislike that when we have updates, something else gets messed up. I am a few versions back. My colleagues that have updated are having several issues that I do not want to have with my reporting. What problems are you ...

Has matured tremendoulsy over the years

What do you like best? I really like the APEX services. This application makes my job extremely simple being I support several instances of powerschool and each has their own flavor of reports they need. What do you dislike? I don't really care for the DDA module. I tend to have to mass update multiple fields at once, and DDA only allows you to update 1 at a time. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Ability to extract data fairly ...

Power School Does Just That.....Empowers Your School

What do you like best? The capabilities of Power School is seemingly endless. From managing student and staff demographic data to maintaining school calendars to scheduling to providing a comprehensive digital grade book, Power School does it all and does it well. In reality, Power School provides far more functionality than we as a small rural district can master. The support is top-notch and given the fact upgrades and updates are constant, Power School is the best choice for us. ...

Has matured and improved over time

What do you like best? Powerschool is generally well designed. Teachers are able to navigate and find what they need, and the platform is easily adaptable to add functionality. What do you dislike? Updates and bug squashing. Updates require a full shutdown and redeployment of the product which is a long process. Often I'm told we have errors in state reporting - but we're not "up to date" because new state reporting installer was just released 2 days ago. Minor update numbers seem ...

PowerSchool Survey

What do you like best? PowerSchool is a one stop shop. It is a monster of an SIS system. Working in PowerSchool is challenging but yet rewarding once you learn how to use the system. What do you dislike? Need more training that does not cost an arm and leg. Small district cannot afford to send staff out of state to attend PSU events. I feel PSU should be offered in different locations than the year before. This may allow other district to take advantage of training. If you don't ...

PowerSchool SIS for Small District

What do you like best? PowerSchool is worldwide company with many resources. What do you dislike? Ever since they acquired themselves, they put more effort in to obtaining preferred partners and vendors then updating their own software. Recommendations to others considering the product: Look at the overall cost. You will need to purchase some 3rd party vendors for fees, lunch management, online registration, LMS, etc. PowerSchool either does not have these functions (but ...

Great system

What do you like best? Updates giving users the tools they need to succeed. What do you dislike? Powerschool integration with programs that are not owned by Powerschool or preferred is a downfall. Users are forced into using only Powerschool programs. Recommendations to others considering the product: If you make a switch you need to go all in. All of your programs will need to integrate into Powerschool. That being said they do make and support any program you would need ...
