Easy to use, powerpacked SIS

What do you like best? the data is easily imported/exported and the screens are ALL customizable. very easily. it is super easy to get any data, no matter how old. the security is easy as well. any screen can be limited to a specific group or individual. What do you dislike? a more -user friendly screen for teachers. it works well, just very minimal looking. for me, db admin, it is perfect. i wish there was a way to "impersonate" a staff member so I can diagnose issues. currently i ...

PowerSchool has streamlined many of our office tasks.

What do you like best? Ease of use. The multiple ways to access data. The visual aspect of the screens is very pleasing and easy to navigate. What do you dislike? Some of the basic screens like the demographics and emergency screens are not current. Example: in an emergency situation, you would not be able to use one screen to find all the info you would need. We had to customize these pages just so we could have a place for cell phones...really? Who doesn't have a cell number. ...

PowerSchool is a user friendly and highly detailed SIS

What do you like best? I really appreciate that PowerSchool is easily customizable, creating a well managed SIS for my school that fits our needs as opposed to a generic out of the box gradebook interface. What do you dislike? The JAVA gradebook makes teachers tasks a bit cumbersome, but with the elimination of JAVA with the new PowerTeacher Pro, this frustration should become a mere memory. Recommendations to others considering the product PowerSchool has recently separated from ...

Completly Worth It

What do you like best? Very user friendly, very easy to pick up What do you dislike? Waiting for state reporting updates to roll out Recommendations to others considering the product Do your homework and test out the platform, but I think once you do that you'll see how easy it is to use, and if your school district uses other applications, how easily those can be integrated with the PowerSchool system. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you ...

Satisfied PowerSchool Admin :)

What do you like best? My (new-ish favorite part of the PowerSchool platform is customization via insertion points and plugins. Insertion points allow users to customize pages without the need to rebuild links & other data each time a PowerSchool update changes that page's coding. Plugins allow PowerSchool to become modular, adding functionality simply by browsing for the zipped plugin file and clicking "Install". And uninstalling is as simple as disabling the plugin by unchecking a ...

Power School

What do you like best? Information is easy to find and is clearly laid out. What do you dislike? The text boxes don't expand as you type. It is difficult to review what you have written if you can't see at all at the same time. Recommendations to others considering the product Plan ahead or anticipate the icons needed (that show up on the teacher roster. Adding or changing icons seems to be a big deal. Perhaps due to cost? What business problems are you solving with the product? ...

Powerful with a few confusing choices

What do you like best? It's easily the best school-wide SIS out there. Powerschool takes care of what could have been 20 different systems, all packed into one. It can even launch complimentary programs. With that said, too much in one product can cause clutter and slowness. This isn't the case with Powerschool. The different responsibilities are well separated, or at least not unclear, and when Powerschool is running, it does all that it promises. What do you dislike? The icons can ...

Teacher Experience

What do you like best? Ease of use and mobility. Gradebook is very intuitive and seating charts are very helpful. What do you dislike? Log entries screen remains problematic - and has been for many years. It would also be nice to have more search functions on the Admin side and in PowerTeacher to easily sort by different variables. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Does not apply

PowerSchool and PowerTeacher

What do you like best? I love how PowerSchool and PowerTeacher are extremely user-friendly. Their categories are self-explanatory, Within each category, it is simple to input information and data into them. What do you dislike? I wish that both would have labels. As a new teacher, when I first used the programs, I wasn't sure where to start. Once I figured out which icon was for which category, it was easy to figure out. However, I had to click through each icon to figure out where to ...

Power School

What do you like best? I like the instantaneous feedback that parents can get about students and students can get about themselves. They can know test scores, homework scores, even attendance as soon as it is input. What do you dislike? I would like more flexibility. I would like to rearrange the columns of assignments not just by due date or alphabetic name, because sometimes I have multiple things due the same day and have to take whatever arrangement of those columns the program ...
