"Hard to Configure at First "

What do you like best? Easy to view files related to certain accounts. Can categorize by many different things such as account number, company code, business unit and description which makes it easy to find certain reconciliations What do you dislike? Hard to configure at first. The default view it gives you may contain information not used by your company. For example the default configuration for me included team, risk, and reviewer which we don't populate. Took me a few tries to figure ...

What do you like best? Blackline has a wide array of upload options in regards to system administration What do you dislike? Rules based account maintenance can be cumbersome What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Blackline helps organize what needs to be reconciled for our property accountants to shorten our close process

"Comprehensive, but Complicated"

What do you like best? Blackline has a lot of great features that make it much easier to accomplish tasks that would otherwise be extremely difficult. I'll offer an example, but I don't think that should be necessary for people who read through Blackline's amazing list of features. Are reconciliations streamlined, controlled, and standardized? What do you like best? It can scale with my needs, specifically my company went international with multiple currencies and subsidiaries What do you dislike? The interface is not especially intuitive or easy on the eyes Recommendations to others considering the product: Study up on use of the system, having at least one "super user" who really understands the product and implications of settings. We have all of our account reconciliations centralized in Blackline which makes them easier to review

"Self implementation"

What do you like best? Close contact with developers, simple data load process What do you dislike? Long waits for custom work or inability to do the custom work as a customer What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Getting all data in one place matching cleared checks and credit card transactions. Medium results but we have not done much automation. We need to begin to use key accounts more to help streamline.

What do you like best? Increased transparency and more accessible, centralized information. What do you dislike? The timing limitations and rates are more restrictive for larger global companies. Recommendations to others considering the product: Important to understand how sophisticated your processes are and where your shortfalls exist.
