"Adobe Captivate: The Good, the bad and the ugly"

What do you like best about Adobe Captivate? Adobe is a solid company with decent customer support. If you can use other Adobe products you are in pretty good stead in starting Captivate. I also liked the educational pricing for Captivate vs. some of the other products I looked it. I think oftentimes companies forget that many of the people who buy their software are not necessarily professional designers, but teachers designing for themselves. Captivate was not cheap, but a better deal ...

What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate? It's very glitchy and creating advanced actions can be very repetitive and cumbersome. It can also be difficult to navigate when have many different layers on one frame. We switched to Articulate Storyline and it's much faster and simpler to use. What problems is ...

"It’s fine, but not great"

What do you like best about Adobe Captivate? Advanced interactions are designed well, especially if you have any programming experience. They are designed in a very similar style to using action script in flash, which I believe is probably deliberate on Adobe’s part. What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate? It’s overly complicated. Even basic course builds can be time consuming and the need to add navigation buttons to courses manually/build templates is a bit of a pain. Alternatives ...

What do you like best about Adobe Captivate? Lots of options available to customize your presentation, many different export options to various LMS What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate? Major bugs with saving, huge memory hog, many of the issues that are reported are not fixed and moved into the next version which you have to pay for, support is a total joke as they are only able to advise that your issue is a known bug, software has a tendency to freeze during saving and sometimes ...

"Adobe3 Captivate"

What do you like best about Adobe Captivate? The feature that allows you to put a time limit on training videos was a plus for our company. It also is a robust program. "disappointed"

What do you like best about Adobe Captivate? Tough to say, as there isn't much I like about it. I guess I like the animation options. What do you dislike about Adobe Captivate? This application is not at all user-friendly. The learning curve is high. Recommendations to others considering Adobe Captivate: use Storyline instead I love Adobe products, and have used Adobe Creative Suite extensively. I was expecting the same quality with this products, and have been very disappointed. What ...
