Meta acquires Audio Analytic
Audio Analytic raised roughly $25 million to deliver reactive, intelligent sound feedback in devices around the smart home and in other consumer devices.
Founded in 2008 and also with offices in San Jose, California, Audio Analytics’ ai3 software helps device makers, chip makers and AI service providers build connected products that instinctively recognise and react to commonplace sounds such as smoke alarms, smashed window glass or a baby’s cry.
Sony acquires Dutch-based Beyond Sports to boost its end-to-end sports business
On November 7, the Tokyo-based Sony Corporation announced that it had acquired the Dutch company Beyond Sports and was restructuring its sports business organization.
As part of Sony’s sports division, Beyond Sports will operate alongside Hawk-Eye and Pulselive, according to a statement from the company.
E.GRUPPE acquires Germany-based Control Mechatronics
Gimv portfolio company E.GRUPPE, which already includes Klotter Elektrotechnik GmbH, has acquired Control Mechatronics GmbH in Nidderau near Frankfurt/Rhein-Main, Germany.
This acquisition will allow E.GRUPPE to expand its product range in industrial electrical process measurement and control technology as well as in project planning and engineering of industrial process automation.
US-based Trupanion acquires PetExpert, Czech pet insurtech startup
PetExpert is an online pet insurance marketplace with operations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia that was established in 2018 by Derek Cummins and Jan Moravec. In these nations, more than 95% of veterinary facilities are connected to its platform.

Venture debt giant Silicon Valley Bank is taking up an equity stake in startup incubator Founders Forum Group. The global partnering agreement will see SVB’s UK CEO Erin Platts join FF’s board of directors.
Under the agreement, SVB UK will also become a “leading partner” to FF’s global events calendar, including the annual forums in London, Berlin and New York.
