Germany-Based Sovity Raises An Astounding Seed Funding In 2023
Data sovereignty as a service firm Sovity in Dortmund, Germany, received a seven-figure seed investment.
Data sovereignty as a service is provided by sovity, which was established in October 2021 as a spinoff of the Fraunhofer Institute for Software and Systems Engineering ISST in Dortmund. Sovity offers technology for data spaces based on standards like International Data Spaces (IDS), Gaia-X, or Eclipse Foundation.

Backed by Fraunhofer Technologie-Transfer Fonds (FTTF), which has supported sovity since the beginning, and High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), one of Europe’s top seed investors.
The additional funding will be used for product development and market presence expansion for the business, including partnerships with initiatives in the field of Data Spaces, such as Catena-X, Mobility Data Space and Gaia-X, as well as with the International Data Spaces Association (IDSA).
